Dan claims that Briggs was offered the fight but turned it down because he wanted 2 million dollars to take the fight.

Shannon Briggs claimed yesterday to TMZ that he asked for two million and they counteroffered with 500k. He accepted-and they then lowered their offer to 400k, which he says he also accepted.

Can't wait to hear his reaction to Szpilka getting the fight.

Personally, I'd have MUCH rather seen him fight Briggs.

Wilder hasn't fought ANYBODY and doesn't really deserve a belt around his waist. Especially a belt that was fabricated because the "sanctioning bodies" needed another heavyweight payday. Tyson Fury is the one and only heavyweight champion. Wilder, Glazkov, Chagaev etc, are no more or less champions as Dan Rafael, Steve Farhood or the welder on the Showtime Boxing opening.

Wilder vs. Szpilka is a fun fight. Much more competitive than Adamek or Briggs.

Briggs has been fighting bums who take 1st round dives because Briggs doesn't have enough wind for much more. Why in the world would anybody want to see him fight...especially for a title? Szpillka vs Wilder is bad enough but please...don't even talk about Briggs.

Briggs just said on Instagram that he talked to Wilder tonight on some radio show and Deontay claimed that Briggs didn't get the fight because the WBC is refusing to rate him. Disappointing.
