  • What made Quillin the guy to give GGG props if they fought?

Quillins resume is garbage. He was never a good boxer, overrated power and been hiding. So why is it that when people said GGG fights no one, Quillin was the name that gives GGGs resume respect?

Who felt that way? Can you retrieve specific posts to back up this claim? Or at least a poll that shows that Quillin was the guy that fans felt GGG has to beat?

I always called Quillin average. I was under the impression that Andre Ward was the guy always mentioned as the fighter GGG would credit for, or Carl Froch, or any top guy at 168, like DeGale, Jack, or even Abraham.

Big Dunn seemed to have a hard on for Quillin.......

Remember when all the haters ranked Peter Quillin in the top 10 P4P after his draw with Andy Lee who is also in the top 10?

Haters wanted GGG to prove himself against these elite guys but haters got owned when Jacobs KO'd Quillin at the weekend and they'll get owned again when Saunders beats Lee next week.

GGG's resume will continue to grow stronger and the hating voices will continue to get quieter.

        Gawd damn haters man.

People said that maybe 2 years ago, but then Quillin kept on looking worse and worse, and Golovkin better and better.

I didn't see anyone saying anything other than it would be one of the few interesting fights at160. Which is even more of a testament to how dead 160 is.

That's one man. I was high on Quillin about 2 1/2 years ago but I bailed back then. I didn't see the development that I thought I should see out of a top prospect. He has size and a big right hand, but he has legs the size of tooth picks. Which is why he has no chin.

                Stop it haters.

Everyone knows that you guys said Quillin was THE name to propel GGG's resume to elite status.

Going life and death with Gabe Rosado before getting a gift stoppage made you haters believe in Kid Chocolate. Now you wanna pretend huh?

Is it one poster or the majority? If it's only 1-5 posters out of 100, that's not very good evidence to suggest that boxing fans in general felt that way.

If all it takes is one poster to show that "Everyone was saying beating Quillin would be the fight GGG gets props for"..then I imagine what two posts of Ward fans would do:

He beat an old past it Winky Wright clearly,, N'Jikam who is another average fighter, that's about all I have seen from him as far as positive performances. His Lee and Rosado fights indicate he has a lot to learn still, I think that is because of a lack of extensive amateur background. 15 amateur fights is just not enough and he doesn't have the luxury of fighting 50 cans like JCC did, fans are more demanding now.

Quillin regressed big time since he fought N'Dam. Just watch his fights, I was shocked by it all. He completely lost his hunger. Hell he was getting beat up by Rosado, that should tell everyone where he was at.
