I believe it was about 2mil. If Pepe Lemuix got 1.5 I think Jacobs should get 1.75.

Pepe was a champion, had a belt, he deserved a good payday. If GGG fights Jacobs, he is not going after Jacobs belt, his belt is a step higher, he will only be defending his belt to Jacobs. Jacobs will be fighting for GGG's belts here. He will be the challenger.

It will be a Champion vs Challenger scenario, not a champion vs Champion unification, unless Jacobs can get the WBO belt first.

A better question would be is where did Quillin vs Jacobs money come from? I am not sure there are many people out there who want to pay them without a return?

At least GGG vs Lemieux paid for itself. Both the guys made money and those who promoted it may have made a little bit of money. GGG and Lemieux in this instance got paid what they were worth by the fans who paid to see it.

That is how boxing and all other sports work. It is a sport paid for by the fans. How much a guy makes is supposed to be dictated by how much revenue that fighter can generate.

Read Dean's quality post above. Just to add, a big part of why HBO loves him is, he never tries to extort them and even gives up some of his purse to sweeten the pot for the challengers. When do you ever see splits like this conceded by runaway A side champ:

Lemieux: 2m vs 1.5m
Rubio: 900k vs 450k
Geale: 900k vs 600k
Stevens: 400k vs 300k
Macklin: 350k vs 300k

No what im saying is they need eachother.

Ward doesnt need the others and Quillin didnt need the stripper but GGG/Jacobs need each other. GGG a little more and thats why 50/50 cause if all goes as planned then Jacobs will fight winner of upcoming MW fight and winner will get another belt.

Are you serious!? The question you should be asking is why Jacobs and Quillin got paid that much for a event that LOST money. drew no fans to the arena only 8K and drew no tv viewers. You think Showtime is happy after they just flushed 3mil down the toilet for a fight nobody saw? GGG is paid what he is worth. Haymon fighters are overpaid. Hell Haymon even knows this which is why Jacobs/Quillin was originally supposed to air on PBC. They moved it to Showtime because they didn't want to pay those high purses. Showtime is the real loser because there was no competition for this fight from any other networks. They basically bid against themselves and overpaid for a complete dud. HBO or no other network would of paid Jacobs or Quillin 1.5mil each when neither has much of a fanbase.
