I also was in Chicago the summer he fought Rodriguez at the Pavilion. Got free tickets while I was there. Crowd was not that big. No more than 2K at the most.

As far as Verdejo is concerned in glad he's selling well. I hope he becomes the next superstar as the kid is a pleasure to watch. I'm glad he's putting large crowds in PR and the US. But let's not kid ourselves either. The venues he's been at in the US while being sold out have been small venues. Venues that don't hold more than a few K. Some have been standing room only. Yet I don't talk crap saying they can't get him a bigger venue or that the kid couldn't sell.

Family from Fresno received free tix and told me that they NEVER have boxing there so why not support local kid. Said it was fun

That's my point. Even when tickets are given for free people don't show up.
So when fighters particularly prospect fighters as Ramirez is here, put 10k and 13k fans in seats even if the majority were given away we should respect it. Not come in here and laugh about it because a few were given for free.

From what I've read, this kid has a manager that busts his ass for him at the ground level tirelessly every single day.

Also, Ramirez is loved in his community. He doesn't come back to his community show off cars and money, he is out there really helping people (even though he isn't yet wealthy) and fighting for a cause important to the people there (water).

Whether or not the tickets were free, I'm not sure but the people showed up. These are Mexican American farmers etc that really love this kid and will show up when he fights.
