Jose Carlos Ramirez draws sell-out crowd

Damn this kid's just a prospect and pulled in over 13,000 people in Fresno. Looks like TR has another sellable fighter like Crawford.

I was actually going to comment about this once the results were posted on here, but you beat me to it.

This kid has already drawn 10k and 13k in attendance this year and he's not even getting the push Verdejo is.
Top Rank has to start re-evaluating who will be their next star. It's obviously Ramirez not Verdejo or Valdez.
Obviously Verdejo and Valdez will draw big crowds in the future, but this kid is doing big things without getting the push the other two are getting.
So I'm not saying Verdejo or Valdez will not become stars, Verdejo will obviously get a lot of support from the PR's that's undoubtedly. But it's crazy how much support Ramirez gets without the hype.

He also has a ton of sponsors already. It's crazy. His trunks are full with sponsors. This guy will be a star if he isn't already.

I also predicted a long time ago that he would beat Verdejo. There is no doubt they will meet as pros and I think Ramirez beats him, I've been saying it since they first turned pro.

He also fights in a division people like to watch. 140. And he has a big frame so no doubt we'll see him at 147 and 154.

I can't watch the fight right now, but I'm following the Top Rank twitter for the updates and apparently he got dropped in the second round.

So Ramirez may not have a good chin. I don't know how hard he got dropped, but that's not a good sign. I remember Lomachenko also dropped him when they fought at the World Championships but they didn't count it as a KD even though a punch landed.

It was just a flash, not really hurt. It's a slug fest right now, but it looks like he's wearing Garcia down, almost had him out at the end of the round.

One thing I will say about Ramirez is that he has to calm down. He's fought crazy/in a rush since he was an amateur. I don't get it, just take your time and box.
Fighting crazy will only get you KO'd.
He can still make exciting fights without going crazy.

He should take his time or it won't end well once he starts stepping up.

It's going to be interesting to see how they step up Ramirez next year. They can't have him keep fighting these type of opponents.

I still think Joseph Diaz Jr is the best out of the 2012 Olympians. The most technical imo.
Ramirez and Spence are really wild. I do enjoy watching all three very much though.

Yeah, but still impressive that many folks actually showed up. He's got an exciting enough style, limited tonight, but could grow into something special if matched up right.

Yeah, it's still impressive in my opinion.
Especially since like I said he's not getting the push other fighters are getting. There is little talk about him and people are still going to watch him.
More well known fighters can't even get that many people to go watch them even if they give free tickets out.

Even if they gave them away, that's still impressive for 13,000 ppl to just show up.
