I decided to be nosy and checked that dudes twitter and apparently that guy said there is a picture of Ramirez doing coke.
Not sure if they're haters, but if it's true not a good sign.
I was over here trying to praise this guy and he's already letting me down lol. By getting dropped and potentially being a druggie. I don't know what the heck is going on.
I hope he has his head in the right place.
Who knows. We can't tell how good Ramirez is going to be until he steps up anyway. Talks about him right now are premature.Comment

Look at Jose Ramirez, look at Oscar Valdez, look at Felix Verdejo, and then ponder back to how Top Rank has marketed every fighter that they've sought to push towards PPV since getting his hands on Oscar De La Hoya.I was actually going to comment about this once the results were posted on here, but you beat me to it.
This kid has already drawn 10k and 13k in attendance this year and he's not even getting the push Verdejo is.
Top Rank has to start re-evaluating who will be their next star. It's obviously Ramirez not Verdejo or Valdez.
Obviously Verdejo and Valdez will draw big crowds in the future, but this kid is doing big things without getting the push the other two are getting.
So I'm not saying Verdejo or Valdez will not become stars, Verdejo will obviously get a lot of support from the PR's that's undoubtedly. But it's crazy how much support Ramirez gets without the hype.
He also has a ton of sponsors already. It's crazy. His trunks are full with sponsors. This guy will be a star if he isn't already.
I also predicted a long time ago that he would beat Verdejo. There is no doubt they will meet as pros and I think Ramirez beats him, I've been saying it since they first turned pro.
He also fights in a division people like to watch. 140. And he has a big frame so no doubt we'll see him at 147 and 154.
Ramirez, not all that different from what has kind of fallen into being the default position for Terrence Crawford, is a hometown fighter that his home crowd have shown themselves willing to come out for and support. A good place to be, but there's an obvious ceiling that you run against.
Ramirez could honestly have 50 sponsors at this point; is he the type of fighter that would have Nike, or companies like Samsung and Coca Cola, wanting to sponsor him. I'm not all that sure. Verdejo and Valdez, simply looking at them, may get the chance.Comment

lol. Cheap tickets are used to generate optics, like trying to get folks to tune into a fight to see "how many people are backing this young prospect before he even becomes a star".
Depending on how deeply the tickets were actually discounted, you could count the audience that are actually backing Ramirez full-on down to maybe 4k-5k.
Then again, Arum does really good with creating images, so who knowsComment
