If Haymon doesn't have options, maybe Canelo can step in and fight Lee/BJS next year. Lee and Saunders would probably be willing to fight at a catchweight too.

You can either call this cynical or calculating....

HBO was going to buy that Lee fight but turned it down because they already have 5 hours of boxing that day scheduled. They basically gave it to showtime. If HBO didnt already have the Jennings Ortiz fight then showtime doesnt have the Lee fight.

After the fight If HBO offers Lee fight winner to face canelo or ggg then those guys will be fighting on HBO. Basically showtime has little say in the matter. Only way it gets done if those guys scared to fight GGG/Canelo and pass on that fight but it won't be because of showtime or haymon said so. Neither guy is signed to haymon or showtime.

You clearly don't understand what "options" are. If Haymon or Showtime has "options"and they choose to exercise them they will be fighting Jacobs next no ifs ands or buts about it.

There is no options. It's a UK broadcast for fighters not signed to showtime. It's a one time fee showtime paid to air the Lee fight in the US. And haymon doesn't manage either fighter.

If Quillin isn't complaining about the stoppage, neither should anyone else.

Actually it was a legal dispute between DiBella & Warren that killed the fight on HBO. Interestingly enough DiBella made the original deal with HBO (which gives me strong hope that Golovkin is still in the picture with Lee if he wins).

HBO had been in the hunt for the rights but a dispute between Lou DiBella, Lee’s American promoter, who had made a deal with HBO, and Saunders promoter, Frank Warren, over who owned the American rights killed the HBO deal.
Good news for boxing fans. The Andy Lee-Billy Joe Saunders middleweight title bout on Dec. 19 will have live American television coverage.

Jacobs will duck GGG and if he does fight him it will be a GGG victory by KO

                      http://espn.go.com/blog/dan-rafael/p...ght-title-bout
Multiple sources reported that HBO was interested in the fight until the Jennings Ortiz card was finalized along with the HBO Latino undercard for the same date. They pulled out negotiations after that . If they continued and bought the Lee fight they would have like 7 hours of boxing on Dec 19 that was just too much boxing for hbo. Showtime was bidding against themselves hbo pulled out.

There is nothing preventing either fighter from fighting on hbo because neither is signed to haymon or showtime.
