      Precisely this.

Was impressed by both men in the post fight interviews. However would prefer to see Jacobs fight the winner of Lee vs Saunders rather than an immediate rematch w/Quillian.

      Still undecided on the stoppage.

it's funny how the wind blows around here....before the fight, Kid was getting slapped with sideways shots about working with Memo....he gets beat in one round and Memo's name is no where to be found in here...if Kid would've iced DJ I wonder if he would've gotten the Marquez treatment....hmmmm

Not if Quillin been smart and taken a knee.

Rules for the bout were 'no standing 8 counts'. Not my choice. Not the refs choice.

I'm not anti Quillin at all (unlike many) and I would have been happy to see him get himself back under control and fight back but with that rule in place it was take another minute of home-run punches that he couldn't defend against or stop the fight. Without any respite he wasn't going anywhere but the hospital.

I was just happy Quillin didn't try to say his shoulder was injured or that God told him he was going to lose. Whew, what a breath of fresh air....

That fight have been ruled a no-contest. Also, one must ask yourself why Mora did not petition for a no-contest since he surely would of gotten it. Could it be that Haymon prevented him from doing so by giving him some bull**** excuse such as it is better for your career or I can get u a rematch, or some other lie.
Considering that it was Jacobs "PUNCH" that caused Mora to fold like a piece of paper, the TKO stoppage was just

#1 that Jacobs is underrated by so many. I predicted him to win (just not so dramatically). He really is a very solid hungry fighter.

#2 Quillin has faded drastically over the past couple years. He has had no fire. All his talk was business etc. You could feel his head was not in it.

#3 All the Memo's in the world cannot turn it around. I believe Memo was brought in to help Pete make weight. But when you are in your 30's, the struggle to make weight will just leave you more empty.

I was kind of shocked that so many were picking Quillin. Over the past couple years, since Rosado on, he has not seemed right. Jacobs has his weaknesses yes, but you cannot deny his desire to get in there and fight. Quillin was just on borrowed time.
Tend to agree with this. He's been like a smart kid in the back row of a class in school half sleeping, half just not paying attention while a lecture is going on. Able to get by on his natural ability for awhile, but his lack of focus &/or drive has finally caught up with him.

I'm super curious what Jacobs can do against the Andy Lee vs Billy Joe Saunders winner (who I feel is gonna be next for him, although knowing how PBC works probably after a whatever fight or two for Jacobs).

quillin's post-fight interview was classy but also showed a real lack of competitive spirit and suggests that this may be the end of him as a top contender

if haymon and jacobs want the WBO then they can't waste any time on rematches or tune-ups because K2 are going to be gunning heavily for it. saunders may pass on golovkin but lee seems more than happy to face him

I'm sure Haymon has options. ShowTime won't pay for that fight to showcase a contender for the face of HBO boxing. Dibella will guide Lee towards Jacobs because it's the less risky fight for the same amount of money and easy to make given his working relationship with Haymon.
