Lets wait for Canelo negotiations to end , there is no need to debate anything else until we know whats up with this MEGA fight for both of them.

If he goes up to SMW now it will be Golovkin-Quillin times 10.

After unifying MW (if he succeeds) Golovkin has two challenges left - Ward and Kovalev. He'll spend mid 30s looking for those fights. Right now is premature because other options are better.
you didn't deny his team is taking the road of least resistance....get those HBO checks fighting mandatories and no hopers and lead the public to believe the other fighters in the divison are "scared"

The rest duck him. Its not his fault he is too good. Theres a reason hes at the top of all the p4p

Are all the p4p media concoctions too? Like the bizarre haters claim.

GGG is a once in a lifetime fighter. His only problem is that he is too good. Thats all.
its called good PR, HBO and fighting decent comp...how would you know he is in a lifetime fighter with the competition he is facing....we don't know

He has done the least I've ever seen for a fighter to be considered "top 3 p4p"

Mayweather had to beat Corrales who was undefeated and favored

Hopkins had to beat Trinidad and cleaned out 160 by then

Jones had to beat Hopkins and toney who are hall of famers

even Ward had to beat Froch, Kessler, Abraham to get there....GGG has done little to nothing in comparison to earn that kind of status

Here's the thing you fail to understand. If Kessler, Abraham, or Froch level opponents had run into GGG, he would've knocked them out and you'd think they are bums.

GGG has already fought fighters as good as those guys, like Lemieux, who is a killer in his own right. GGG crunched him like a coke can. The other MWs are too afraid to get killed like the rest. GGG is a star like no other. The best combination of technical skill and power in the boxing, by far.

There's a reason why every ESPN has him at the top of p4p. Are they also being paid off by PR?

IMO it's not a question of degrees of resistance, but degrees of reward. Golovkin is looking for reward - popularity, respect or financial reward.

At one time or another he has called out and/or negotiated a fight with EVERYONE from 154-168, from Floyd to Ward. Floyd, Sturm, Martinez, Cotto, all turned him down because they deemed the fight too risky. Froch retired after talking crap. Ward said he was rusty in June, then said he was ready when GGG had Lemieux&Cotto/Canelo lined up.

I'm not sure where you and others think that Golovkin and his fans don't want the best fights. I'm telling you, you're barking up the wrong tree.

outside of Lee and Qullin nothing is left for him at 160, if there is tell me who is
Dude, you're missing the point or didn't read what I said. DeGale is a Haymon fighter. Until Nelson got the job a week ago, there was 0% chance that a fight between DeGale and GGG would have been made since Golovkin has an exclusive contract with HBO, and Haymon doesn't work with HBO. It's the same reason why Quillin/GGG hasn't happend even though it's been talked about in 2 years. It's same reason that Lara is running his mouth.

I would LOVE for GGG to fight DeGale after he unifies.

GGG -s only problem is, he is not American, Mexican or Puertorican.

If he was, he would be one of the biggest stars in boxing right now. And Cotto and canelo would˙t make crazy excuses like "he is not a star, he is not known etc".

Regardless, he is still top guy at 160, a true champ, no matter what anyone says.

should've could've would've...dead that shyt....the facts are he didn't earn it like previous fighters had too...he has a bunch of knockouts and that's why, its not because of his level of competition why he is rated by them

Fat Dan is a damn troll....I don't need ESPN to determine an opinion I can form with my own eyes. If been in and around this sport too long not to form my own opinion and contrary to what you may believe, the jury is still out on GGG

Compare who he fought to get top 5 p4p to Nonito donaire....this dude blitzed champions across 4 weight classes before he was that high

Mayweather had to be lineal at 130 with 8 defenses and 5 of those title fights were over reigning or future titlists/champions

Look at Chocolatito.....now that's a beast 3 weight champion and in a talent latent division and destroyed Viloria who is better than anyone GGG gas fought

                Kovalev beat Hopkins, Pascal, etc.

GGG aint done nothing in comparison besides knockout people he was supposed to beat

the people doing all the barking is his team, they need to do more negotiating and boxing.....tired of this could've would've he scared crap....you don't get brownie points for fights not getting made regardless of whose fault it is, we don't know because we are not boxing promoters or managers....what I do know is its time for his team to put up or shut up

He has all the talent in the world but they are wasting it on c and d level opposition

I never saw a fighter do so little, get so much hype in my life.

His ppv tanked because he hasn't fought anyone from 160-175 with more than a 20% chance of winning

I hope next year he tangles with Lee or Qullin if they win there next fights....Jacobs is ok but is chinny and Saunders is ok but no world beater

He should fight the winner of Lee-Saunders and Quillen-Jacobs

I don't know why his fans don't support him moving up and challenging himself, when they act like it s a requirement for other fighters
Canelo isn't Elite. .he's a big name hiding at 154..now at Caneloweight of 155..just not to face fighters his size so he won't get KO TKO like Chávez jr did for hiding in lower weight bc that's only advantage they have...I want GGG to move up..da faster he gets the belt Canelo is about to vacate da faster he moves up. .i rather him win da belt in da ring but GB would rather vacate. .plus 3G no hype. .those fighters u named elite are all hype. .hopefully 3G doesn't take step aside $ from Canelo. .it's either fight next or vacate..if he does won't look good on his part
