What was the main reason Tyson Fury was able to beat Wladimir Klitschko?

  • Age played a role, but it is a matter of how Wlad built himself back up.

Wlad throws when he can land good, if he can't land 100% without taking something back he won't throw. Fury was able to make it so that was never the case, it was mostly BS because he was never in position to really hit Wlad good but he made it so Wlad became uncertain if he would land or what could come back.

He was trying to be perfect against a guy who was not going to allow that by hook or by crook, and had the right attributes to make it work.

That being perfect had worked well against the other guys Wlad has fought, and you do something for so long and have so much success it is not easy to just change on the fly. It is part of the problem with following a strict doctrine no matter how good it may seem, because it allows no room for adaptation when problems arise. In a fight problems will eventually arise

    • Movement and feints. Klitschko also couldn't guess the angles at which punches would come from because he was punching from the waist. Fury also did necessary work on the inside when he could get it in.

Fury came to win the fight, Klitschko did not until the championship rounds. Banks was telling him he was fighting from behind by the 6th and 7th round.

      • Roy was saying it a lot "Why doesn't Wladimir punch when an opportunity is there, instead he looks at Fury and clinches instead of exchanging blows"

        • when u sign a contract n get in the ring, no excuses! but of course it had something to do with the win... thing is he would probably beat him in his prime as well

Except Wilt is not relevant here since Wilt would clearly be in furys shoes in the 60's...you are not the inteligent one to see that.

You just cant admit Wilt is one of Ali's top guys if he decided to do boxing in 1965, because then it crushes everything you said about size advantages but here you are anyway now saying Furys size helped him defeat Wlad!

It has to be both, if Fury was no good Wlad would've beaten him we saw it with Wach (we'll see something similar when Povetkin smashes Wilders). Fury moves very well for a big man, understand distance and length.

Wlad is also getting older, I still think he'd beat 99% of the division I'm not sure if peak Wlad would beat Fury just because stylistically it's nightmare, it's not about Wlad speed but that Fury makes him hesitant. It might just be a case where a worse fighter just understands how to beat a better fighter.

Yes, it was from a head butt.

Fury was dirty with his rabbit punches, head butts, and other stuff.

                    And Wlad wasn't dirty?
