    What's delusional about that?

      LOL this.

The reality is everyone's ratings are subjective (except Boxrec & the IBO which are computer rankings) & bs. Its just a bunch of guys or one guy coming up with their opinion or a computer formula. The best don't fight the best often enough in boxing for anyone to have "the" ratings without a whole bunch of "what if" questions being asked or expectations of what happens.

Personally I like boxrec rankings taken for what they are. I don't get that serious about them (I do find they are the best source to gauge prospects I've not yet seen which are usually a large % of them & it kinda helps me figure out who's worth checking out cuz they are fighting more challenging guys than some other prospects), but you can't get that serious about any rankings in boxing cuz you can **** on all of them for one reason or another.

You can't win a boxing match by barely hitting your opponents while getting hit all the time yourself.

What the hell are you talking about? Trout lost clearly, but it was competitive imo. The Lara fight I could see 7-5 either way or a draw.

You're making it sound like nobody scored either fight for him.

I was like you, also buying the Canelo hype, until I rewatched the Trout-Lara fights with a honest mind. Try to sit on Youtube and watch the fights, with a writing window open, count the punches that actually land and don't give Canelo "generous" rounds, only the ones he clearly won. The unsure rounds, just score them a draw. You won't be able to give Canelo more than 3-4 clean rounds in either fight.

He was carefully managed for a while in his career, and took favorable fights earlier on that resulted in disproportionately large jumps. His score went up much more than I would have thought makes sense for his wins against Gomez, Cintron, Mosley and Lopez. Then of course he made big jumps for legitimately good wins against Trout and Cotto.

I think The Ring & TBRB have him at much more reasonable positions (#9 & #10 respectively), though the lists may shift as Fury will likely surge into the rankings.

Lara completely schooled Canelo. Very clear decision.

Who cares about some website rankings? No one considers Canelo number 1.

Yeah, I'm not going to take scoring tips from you.

                    Can't say I agree unfortunately.

He clearly lost to Lara, the only way they got away with that big of a robbery was because they knew due to Lara's limited fanbase there wouldn't be a huge backlash.

I scored that fight 9-3, 8-4 being generous to Canelo - 7-5 being super generous to Canelo, and to go further than that is just crazy.

So in no way should he have won that fight, period. Even a draw would have been a robbery against Lara.
