If he is a never was as you ******ly say then why do Ward and Lara spend so much time and effort challenging GGG and only GGG. Lara is not calling out the other 154 pound champions or the other 160 pound champions. Ward is not calling out the 168 pound champions or the other 160 pound champions. They only call out GGG. They aren't calling GGG out because he is a never was, dummy. They call out GGG because they know he is considered the best or one of the best fighters in the world. Calling out GGG is good publicity for them and that's why he is the only one they call out. Lara and Ward are both Haymon fighters and it shouldn't be hard for them to get fights with other Haymon fighters. But they only call out GGG who is not a Haymon fighter. They know they are safe from a real fight with the G monster because they are Haymon fighters and fight for different networks as well.

    • So Gennady fans logic: He would walk right through Lara, he would walk right through the fabulous 4. Gennady should just retire nobody can ever test his skills its unfair.

And no, fighter purses dont affect the pockets of any posters here. It is however helpful to have a basic understanding of fight economics, to help you understand why some fights get made and others dont. The notion that any professional fighter at these levels is afraid of another fighter is absurd. Its even more absurd to think fans are afraid of certain fights, like they are going to be in the ring taking punches or something.....lol

Lara is one of the best technical boxers fighting right now, period. He is a master boxer next to Floyd and Ward. Ward vs lil g is one of the most hyped up fights we have in boxing. You can't think of any other article that will get more comments than a Ward vs lil g article. With that being said they BOTH will make their highest pay day that's a bet. So fans using the money excuse sounds like a fan is skeptical about their guy winning the fight so they don't wanna see it. When lil g was on the verge of facing Chavez jr we don't know their purse but nobody cared we wanted to see the fight. I gaurantee lil g's purse will be higher fighting Ward than any other fight. And we ALL know who wins that fight.

Hell yeah Wards name will always come up until lil g grows a pair and calls him out and demands that fight. Wards name is always gonna come up until they fight. Fuuck fighting in the media I wanna see them fight in the ring so Ward can beat his head like a drum.

It's funny GGG haters try to act like its his fault Lara fight didn't happen. Lara's manager said HBO didn't want to pay their fee. Not that they were scared, or didn't want to, but that they didn't think the fee would reflect what the fight would bring in.

I don't know about that you might want to watch this most recent video with Lara's manager. Not a bystander not a person who heard something. His actual manager. Let me link you

            https://********/Y8VqGMKKAnI

Hense why Monroe was chosen, much smaller fee. Made more financial sense. It's too bad most of you seem to basic to get this.

At the time GGG hadn't even begun to cross over.

Which is funny, his haters celebrated the 150k PPV, although until he crosses over, it will be harder to make good fights.

Lara, Quillin, both want large fees to fight GGG. Both are with Haymon, so there is other obstacles.

Like I said before, Lara talked his way into the Canelo fight, lost.

He lost because of the judges not because he was outboxed. Remember Canelo got a fuucking draw with Floyd on one judges scorecard after losing 10-11 rounds easy. Paquiao has a loss to Tim Bradley when he clearly beat Bradley in that first fight. So don't say loss like the judges had either fight right.

Now he wants a big payday to fight GGG. Yea Right. Lara should offer to do it on the low.

If Canelo versus GGG doesn't happen, maybe we see the fight, if they can make it work. Johnson is GGG's mandatory, so that fight also has to happen soon. And GGG versus Lee will be vital if Canelo vacates like a biiiitch.

Canelo is the star I doubt he vacates! Lee is a garbage fight for lil g as well. Lil g should move up if he can't fight Lara or Canelo. Imagine Crawford or Broner staying in one division not moving up being the best in their division but not willing to go to 140 or 147 to fight other top guys. I wonder how that will go over?

Funny, GGG is supposedly a hype job, but he is suppose to fight on of the top two guys two divisions above him, before getting the big fights in his own division. And do it while the fight would struggle to sell.

Or better yet HBO should take a loss paying for Lara's high fee, just because so forum junkies think it's a good fight. Why the fuuuuck would they do that!

Well, then hope GGG starts doing big PPV numbers soon, then he'll have that luxury to generate enough to pick his opponents.

This would be a good win for GGG, sadly those who call for it now will say GGG only beats good JR.MW. If he beats Canelo, they'd say the same thing, despite the fact both rehydrate up to 170 like ggg, Canelo even heavier. He may of been 180 this last fight, he looked bigger than ever.

Lara is out there facing top fighters isn't he! Man, that guy he took out this weekend, big time. Come on! Just make **** up.

Lara has a way better resume than lil g period. Lara wants to add lil g to his resume and I believe he beats him. When you step up in class that is a shock when you can't easily outbox or knock your opponent out. YOU and I both know Lil g is not about to get in the ring and outbox Lara. So that leaves one outcome. GGG has to hurt Lara real bad or knock him out. I don't see Lara getting knocked out so that leaves who can outbox each other. We know the answer to that question.

HBO isn't protecting anyone dumb ass. HBO asked both Ward and GGG about fighting a year or so ago, Ward said no.

Where in the **** did Ward say no to fighting lil g? Let me see an article where HBO and or Ward and his team said they said no to fighting Ward **** boy? Show me that shyt.

GGG couldn't find anyone then, but has since put himself in an interesting position.

Ward timed his offer because he knew GGG wasn't gonna blow these bigger fights to fight Ward.

If HBO were gonna protect anyone it'd be Canelo from GGG, but I suspect they want that fight.

They want all fights, as long as they a big.

HBO didn't make Ward do ****. They said they would sign him if he was gonna fight big fights. GGG was not in the books. HBO wasn't gonna sign Ward so he could fight bums hoping GGG chooses him.

Two years ago HBO wanted these two to build the fight, GGG has done his part.

Ward has not. Ward wanted to sit back, do nothing, and then magically get the guy who is rising in the MW division.

Ward makes himself look so pathetic playing these games.

This guy can't even get in the ring.

Ward destroys lil g! He was in a contract dispute until Goosen passed away. Don't act like that wasn't the main issue. Ward destroys lil g period. If lil g and his team wanted the fight they could press the media and call out Ward like they did: Floyd, Canelo, Cotto, Floyd who fights at 147 and never made 154 in his life.

a "deeper" division does not inherently mean a better one if you are not longer comparing them in an absstract, p4p sense [which, outside of the discourse, does not exist.]

so the current crop of 154 lbers can beat the 160 lbers? is that what you're telling me?

                • how about you guys talk actual resumes / fighters. don't just tell me your opinions. show me how you've been edified.

who is this murderers row of lara opponents [with whom he often struggled] that make them better than a list of guys a 160 lber fought?

i'd give paul williams a good shot to beat anyone golovkin has beaten to date

and if we're talking the current crop, andrade and williams would make top middleweights imo. and lara himself (although none of them would beat the current ggg)

the kid had trouble with alfredo f#cking angulo. dude was getting lara to the ropes, landing to the body, and catching him with the hook on the way out. golokvin is faster, mores skilled, actually has a jab and hits harder and with more accuracy.

why does he lose to lara? why is lara some kind of boogeyman that golovkin would avoid?

he's either going to run away from golokvin all night [and claim he won,] or he's going to get his f#cking teeth knocked out. he has absolutely no chance of winning the fight.

when golovkin knocks him out the bscene rhetoric will reflect the reality that lara was an overrated 154 lber who went life and death with alfredo f#cking angulo.

                      that fight happened.
