  • Would love to see the Lara fight but the way Lara was backing up from Canelo I can't see him doing great against GGG, even though I thought he beat Canelo 7-5, the judges definitely won't give him rounds if he fights that way against GGG.

But make the fight happen man... Lara would easily be GGG's best opponent to date, although moving up in weight it's difficult to say how much of his skills and speed will transition across the divisions.

    • If Lara really is willing to move up to 160, than GGG needs to take this fight.

I understand not wanting to drain yourself for Caneloweight, but then Lara at 160 is your best opponent by far.

Now you are trying to compare lil g's resume to Lara? GTFOH! Like I said be very thankful that HBO and lil g's management staff is protecting him from Ward and Lara. You will have to find another not black fighter to **** ride. You drunk the cool-aid I ain't letting that go. You still think rousey is the best and beats the top male boxer? LMAO hahahaha

          1. They can't read. There's nothing about any odds in that post above much less -2200. Hell the dumba$$ thinks Lara should be favored
          2. They don't even give Lara a chance, hardly anyone does, not even the Cuban posters. Just some angry trolls like the guy you quoted

So Lara wouldn't be the best fighter lil g has faced? And HBO is protecting lil g from Ward period. They pulled his skirt and fans like you want to protect lil g instead of wanting to see the best vs the best. Oh wait let me guess Ward and Lara don't make lil g enough money right? And how does that affect your pockets?

So if money is not an issue how come lil g fans do not seem eager for lil g to face Ward? I wonder why? I thought lil g fought for legacy first?

what exactly is Lara the "best" at? Running away after he gets hit?

And no, fighter purses dont affect the pockets of any posters here. It is however helpful to have a basic understanding of fight economics, to help you understand why some fights get made and others dont. The notion that any professional fighter at these levels is afraid of another fighter is absurd. Its even more absurd to think fans are afraid of certain fights, like they are going to be in the ring taking punches or something.....lol

I really do not appreciate Lara way of the sweet science, for me a GGG v Lara fight is more of how GGG deals with a negative style at the next level. GGG would obviously beat Lara, but I want to see how he deals with the negativity that comes with Lara, who is surely not going to be easy to pin down.

Please, kindly show us where said "**** riders" are opposing the fight. Saying that making the fight due to HBO-Haymon beef has obstacles and "opposing" are two entirely different things.

Zaveck, who two years ago went the twelve round distance with hard-puncher Keith Thurman, was overwhelmed by Lara. The fight was over in the third round when Zaveck was unable to continue due to some type of shoulder injury. He was being punished in every round.

I believe him....now if he can implement the right plan and not get KO'd is a different story....we've seen Nelo and Angulo make him very uncomfortable with the pressure...and that was WITHOUT a solid jab....Lil G can jab well....so it's one those fights that would be INTERESTING....this is a fight that should be made imo

                  • You point out the financial reasons the fight wasn't made, they say you don't want it

I don't think one GGG fan wouldn't love to see Lara get it, although I'd be nieve to think most of you would give him respect. You'd just say Wards name.

It's funny GGG haters try to act like its his fault Lara fight didn't happen. Lara's manager said HBO didn't want to pay their fee. Not that they were scared, or didn't want to, but that they didn't think the fee would reflect what the fight would bring in.

Hense why Monroe was chosen, much smaller fee. Made more financial sense. It's too bad most of you seem to basic to get this.

At the time GGG hadn't even begun to cross over.

Which is funny, his haters celebrated the 150k PPV, although until he crosses over, it will be harder to make good fights.

Lara, Quillin, both want large fees to fight GGG. Both are with Haymon, so there is other obstacles.

Like I said before, Lara talked his way into the Canelo fight, lost.

Now he wants a big payday to fight GGG. Yea Right. Lara should offer to do it on the low.

If Canelo versus GGG doesn't happen, maybe we see the fight, if they can make it work. Johnson is GGG's mandatory, so that fight also has to happen soon. And GGG versus Lee will be vital if Canelo vacates like a biiiitch.

Funny, GGG is supposedly a hype job, but he is suppose to fight on of the top two guys two divisions above him, before getting the big fights in his own division. And do it while the fight would struggle to sell.

Or better yet HBO should take a loss paying for Lara's high fee, just because so forum junkies think it's a good fight. Why the fuuuuck would they do that!

Well, then hope GGG starts doing big PPV numbers soon, then he'll have that luxury to generate enough to pick his opponents.

This would be a good win for GGG, sadly those who call for it now will say GGG only beats good JR.MW. If he beats Canelo, they'd say the same thing, despite the fact both rehydrate up to 170 like ggg, Canelo even heavier. He may of been 180 this last fight, he looked bigger than ever.

Lara is out there facing top fighters isn't he! Man, that guy he took out this weekend, big time. Come on! Just make **** up.

HBO isn't protecting anyone dumb ass. HBO asked both Ward and GGG about fighting a year or so ago, Ward said no.

GGG couldn't find anyone then, but has since put himself in an interesting position.

Ward timed his offer because he knew GGG wasn't gonna blow these bigger fights to fight Ward.

If HBO were gonna protect anyone it'd be Canelo from GGG, but I suspect they want that fight.

They want all fights, as long as they a big.

HBO didn't make Ward do ****. They said they would sign him if he was gonna fight big fights. GGG was not in the books. HBO wasn't gonna sign Ward so he could fight bums hoping GGG chooses him.

Two years ago HBO wanted these two to build the fight, GGG has done his part.

Ward has not. Ward wanted to sit back, do nothing, and then magically get the guy who is rising in the MW division.

Ward makes himself look so pathetic playing these games.

This guy can't even get in the ring.

Did you see the Zaveck fight? Lara can fight very offensively if he chooses to, I just don't think he'll take those sort of risks against GGG so he may well end up fighting in a more negative style for that fight but the guy is pretty versatile when he wants to be.
