At 25 years old, is Canelo Alvarez already a borderline future Hall of Famer?

He definitely could be, he had age on his side.

I am sure both Canelo and GGG will be hall of famers some day. They are my favorites along with Kovalev and Spence. Canelo's record is good enough that even if he loses a time or two he will still end up in the hall. HE IS A DAMN GOOD FIGHTER and he keeps improving.

I want to say yes but I also think we're in the honeymoon phase of Canelo's success. His career is sort of just starting.

I didn't like Canelo one bit but then he fought Trout and Lara which immediately earned my respect. However I thought he was no where near ready to beat Floyd that night, no way it was happening. I knew he needed a KO but damn he got SCHOOLED by Money May that day.

If Canelo proves others and myself wrong by beating GGG then we may have a very good exciting hopeful to carry the sport.

I wouldn't say so right now, but his career is literally only just blooming when you think about it. He is in his mid 20's, going off of age he could be around for at least another 10 years...Plenty of time to mould a HOF career.

Right now, no. Providing his career doesn't go off the rails? He could do, absolutely.

I guess his marketing and management could affect the fans approach to him...We are told he is the new face of the game while there are tons and tons of fans that are tired of some of the stuff surrounding him. Personally I am a little hot and cold towards Canelo, 50/50 on him, but in terms of the question yes he could easily end up in the HOF in due time.

He has his biggest roadblock with Golovkin in 2016 hopefully after a testing the waters fight against a true MW like Lee or Lemiuex, then GGG. But I can't see how if he beats GGG, anyone other than Lara poses any threat to him.
No man and the ring title he has at middleweight means nothing.

Having said that, he is carving an impressive resume, although he lost the Cotto fight imo bu twins over Trout and Lara are good. Mosley and Angulo were both badly faded and Kirkland is nothing more than a journeyman.

Canelo actually needs to fight at a particular weight, not the mythical 155 lol to actually be considered a HOFer, and unify titles and actually beat a top level fighter comfortably.

No. A win over an old Cotto and a disputed win over Lara is not HOF material, not matter how popular he is.

He's not even very close imo. And no Tua, he doesn't have a better resume than Cotto.

Canelo will be remembered as the coward who ducked Martinez and GGG.

The Mexicans should kill him for bringing shame to their country.
