Golovkin is not a risk taker. Simple.

the whole point of your thread is to bash GGG and say he doesnt take risk which is false considering he fights for a living. Ward has name recognition ON HIS RESUME, he has beaten noteworthy fighters which means he is afforded a certain amount during any negotiations with any fighter.

GGG doesnt have that, and hasnt really proven himself which will happen if he stays at middleweight. Ward IS ALREADY DONE with 168 and 175 awaits him with legacy and money fights. GGG hasnt fought anybody and has legacy and money fights waiting for him at 160.

    this isnt rocket science.

stop thinking like a fan and put yourself in the professional prize fighters shoes.
Bro, I am talking about the risk of competition, not boxing. We all know boxing is a risk lol. The thread isn't about that.

FYI, Ward and The Krusher have signed a deal to fight fall next year. Ward doesn't care about Golovkin, he offered the fight and they said no.
Ward is not going to fight Kovalev. Hes going to retire right before that.

I have been trying to argue this with otherwise reasonable posters

They have lost their mind on GGG

He is just like any other boxer, wants maximum advantages.

He looks amazig, no one denies that

          Two issues

          1) he has NO leverage. His ppv bombed and is clinging on belt regulations

          2) all the fighters that get hated on: Cotto, Canelo, Pac, Floyd have made huge concessions or moved up and down. GGG has not.

GGG is actually much closer to Ward, guy with no leverage, great skills to be sure, but takes ZERO risks

When was the last time GGG took a risk? Wanted to fight Cotto for gods sake

The easier guy fought at a catch weight. Golovkin can cut the ring much better, hits harder and is smarter than Canelo. The main reason Canelo was schooled was because he wasn't smart enough to know what was happening and his feet were glued to the floor. GGG is a much better fighter.

But again, Canelo took the risk of going to 152 instead of fighting at the championship weight of 154. Golovkin isn't willing to do the same for Canelo.

He still wants to fight Cotto. If I was Rican I would be riding with Canelo to lay the smackdown on GGG, trying fight little Cotto SMH

Man I miss Paul Williams(despite his limitations in the ring). Dude chased greatness. Couldn't get fights at welterweight and moved the heck up cause he wanted to be great. I could be wrong but I don't think I ever heard him talking about people being a draw or money or anything, he wanted to fight and test his skills against the best. Got dang shame what happened to someone like him.
