GGG doesn't want canelos belt he just won. He wants his spot in boxing which transcends belts. And he can't get that by court or by it being vacated. GGG has very little options unless he moves up in weight. Canelo is boxing cash cow and just got through a gauntlet of tough fights that the fans wanted to see. It will not hurt him if he doesn't fight GGG right away. Doubleheader with contract to fight in Sept is much better for GGG then getting the belt but nobody caring and he's stuck with no big fights.

Even if GGG beats Canelo, he'll likely never transcend the sport and become a crossover star. Canelo, like Oscar, has good loox that make women love him and men hate him. GGG is incredibly ugly. Not only ugly, he's goofy looking. Floyd had a personality and ability to sell a fight that drew people to him. GGG is incredibly corny. Manny was able to piggyback off of being the anti-Floyd. And all of those guys, when they weren't the A-side, were willing to bend to more popular fighters demands in order to take that leap. For whatever reason, GGG seems to have a sense of entitlement that he's arrived, without arriving. And doesn't wanna follow protocol in order to take that next step into to super stardom.

What a bunch of BS!!!! WBC talking all this smack how they are staying firm that the Cotto/Canelo winner MUST face GGG next and now they're ok with a double header with them next? Pretty obvious WBC is favoring their fellow Mexican and new poster boy Alvarez.

            What a Crook

WBC Prez is a crook, period. If Cotto would've paid the 1.1 million and would've won the fight he would've made no exception and would've force Cotto to make the fight with GGG. Freaking crook.

They would also need to get an agreement from whoever Canelo's opponent was that he would fight GGG next in the event of him beating Canelo.

This double header idea seems ok. Just depends on whether Golovkin is willing to wait another 10 months before he finaly gets his shot at that title.

GGG gonna be 39 before he gets his shot at Canelo. Should call this an "eventually" instead of a "mandatory".

Such is life triple G... either fight Nelo at 155lbs or kick rocks. Nelo earned his keep by beating the man that beat the man at 160. The WBC ain't ****** they know Nelo being the champ is good for business whether Triple G likes that or not it ain't Nelo problem. As I have said before let triple G fight the Lee/Saunders winner to unify the WBO belt then a fight with Nelo by September would be big business as all the belts will be on the line but now is not the time for this fight.

Fine. Canelo can just unbuckle the belt and hand it over to his daddy. Or, he can hand him a big fat check. But he's gonna hand him one or the other.....

and you said Canelo beat the man who beat the man at 160. Thats not really accurate. Actually, he beat the man (at 155) who beat the man (at 159)
