GGG will very likely stick to his principles and pressure the WBC to enforce the mandatory clause. If Canelo doesn't want the fight at 160, they will take the belt from him. They have been plainly outspoken about this. Why would they agree to a catchweight or a voluntary after going on the record numerous times with this? In the end it won't matter, because once GGG has all the belts at MW, everyone from 160 and coming up from 154 will have to go through him. So why not take the belt now, and let Canelo come to him later as he would if he were allowed to keep the belt? I'm sure it's not how GGG wants to get the belt, but it's disgraceful to the sport having these pretenders masquerading as middleweight champs.
I don't care who canelos mandatory was at his time at 154. During his time he fought trout, mayweather, lara, angulo, and tried to fight cotto for years until he finally agreed to fight. Tell me what fighter at 154 he didn't fight that the public wanted to see? He will fight GGG he's not cotto who we all knew never would fight him. It's just a question of will it be his next fight. I got no problem with sept it makes the ppv bigger GGG needs to build his fanbase he has no leverage after his ppv bombed. Doubleheader with agreement signed for a fight in sept is win win for everyone. No step aside fee a real contract for Sept signed by both pomoters everybody makes money
It could work out well. Lee/Saunders and Lemieux would be good opponents. I'm not sure Lemieux would be able to come in below 160 though if he was to face Canelo.
Lara Vs Golovkin would be good also. But if Golovkin is going to miss out on the Canelo title fight next, i think he will want the Lee/Saunders title fight in it's place.
The WBC is a ****ing joke. They cant be taken serious. Look how long Floyd held the titles and there was no pressure. Look how Jr got his shot while they had stripped Sergio. Look how Cotto got his shot.
So much noise for Cotto to face his mandatory and the WBC themselves which they are not promoters or have fighters do a suggestion like this. What a joke
The WBC has been saying for months that the winner of Alvarez/Cotto had to fight Golovkin next. Now, less than a week after the fight, they are already waffling. I predicted this months ago, but all the idiots who post on this site who DKSAB said I was wrong and the Great Golovkin would get his shot at the winner at 160 pounds.
maybe you missed the part where Suiliman said "if the promoters make a deal"
I know you want the WBC to screw GGG over SOOOOOOOOO bad, but at the moment that hasnt happened yet

You're gonna be really butt hurt when Mr 97K has all the belts, and everyone at 160, and coming from 154 wanna fight Nelo at 155, and not give a **** about Mr 97K and all his belts.
