there is EXTREME conflict of interest in this scenario in favor of golden boy, ring and hbo
he will wind up getting his belt reinstated through the courts
kovalev has only one LEGIT fight and that was with B Hop
Stvenson beat EVERYBODY they put in front of him and the only one that made it to the final bell was fonfara where he only won MAYBE two rounds and got knocked down twice and hurt multiple times in the fight.
kov WITHDREW from their fight back in early part of this year not stevensons fault pascal priced himself out
this has lawsuit written all over it Stevenson won his title from beating the man who beat the man no matter what these fools on the cyber world say Adonis Stevenson is the KING of 175 until he gets beaten and dethroned

IBO, for real? Dude it's not hard: he was fresh off ESPN, getting outclassed by Campillo for like 8 rounds, and Campillo was done at that point. He didn't have the wins to go top 5. Then he did better than expected vs Adonis, and had some decent wins since, so he's top 5 now. But really didn't look that great vs fringe contenders like Cleverly and Doudou.

Boxrec includes champions in their rankings and also inserted Andre Ward towards the top of their rankings, but in terms of actual light heavyweight contenders, Fonfara is the highest ranked.

The myth that Stevenson is ducking top contenders is nothing but HBO propaganda. The facts don't support the premise.
        Here you go man

        http://boxrec.com/media/index.php/Ad...ndrzej_Fonfara

Fonfara entered as a 6.75-to-1 betting underdog. [1]
Stevenson entered as the light heavyweight champion of the world according to The Ring Magazine. Fonfara was ranked as the #10 light heavyweight contender according to the same publication. [2]

Ring rule: you must schedule a fight with a top 5 contender within 2 years. Fonfara clearly was not top 5, as the link show. Hence Stevenson was liable to be stripped. Other guys have gotten exemptions sure, but all of them had better excuses than this guy who's turned down top 5 opponents on multiple occasions.

And let me clue you in: computerized doesn't mean good. Boxrec is computerized, and they've had some horrible rankings for years, and the IBO is even worse. You know who their WW champ ? A guy called Tsiko Mulovhedzi, no joke.

Stevenson hasn't turned down anyone. The top 5 has turned down Stevenson. Kovalev backed out of the purse bid and Pascal refused a chance to be the mandatory.

IBO's championships have nothing to do with their rankings. The IBO champions are whoever the IBO can happen to get to fight for their titles. The rankings are completely unbiased and by far more reflective of reality than the WBA, WBC, IBF or WBO.
Thats a really strange ratings policy lol. Bud, once again, computerized doesn't mean good, or even unbiased.

Again, you saw the link with Adonis turning down Pascal, for the second time at least. Running from HBO to avoid Kovalev, then blowing off their offer of 50/50 on HBO. Failing to make the Hopkins fight, which was his excuse for running from Kov in the first place. You must be part of Team Superduck to defend this.

Dude, you just dont fking get it! The ring stripped adonispieceofsht of their title according to their rules, not this boxing website's rule! This site doesnt have a belt dummy! n this here's ranking doesnt apply to theirs...

n you're still here defending a fking champ, who let's say theoretically in the last 2 years has only fought one, ONE fking top 5 opp! Y do you defend him? Y not ask him to have fought all top opp...FACEPALM!!!

                  He has fought weak competition.
The odds on the Fonfara fight was -2000, I remember. He almost got beat, never rematched. Fought Bika and 2 other bums. Joke of a fighter.
He could have fought someone. No Bhop, Pascal or Kov, he is a joke.
                  He just got pimp slapped.

He waited for Stevenson and Haymon to agree on terms and send him a contract till the evening before the deadline expired. When he didn't get any word from them, he phoned Duva and made the fight with Kovalev instead.

That's BHop's and Duva's version of what happened, and it sits well with the facts as we know them. If you have another version of the truth which is "easily verified" then post the evidence.

The Ring's rules on retaining their title are very clear, and Stevenson clearly didn't comply with them.

They derecognised Andre Ward earlier this year for the same reason as Stevenson - failing to defend against anyone in the top 5 of their rankings for more than 2 years, and Ward is with HBO.

If they have made an exeption for Rigo, for some reason, that doesn't alter the fact that Stevenson didn't comply with rules and they were entitled to take their "title" away from him.

It wasn't the IBF's rules that got in the way of the purse bid, it was the terms of Kovalev's contract with HBO. As has been pointed out, there is a way round that problem. If Gym offer the fight to HBO, and HBO reject it, Kovalev would be free to fight Stevenson another network.
Thank goodness Jesus somebody spewed up the truth! You're one of the few people that actually remembered what happened before pieceofsht ran from HBO. Hopkins came out n implied the other "party"=Hymen wanted to play chess with him so that the deadline will be enforced onto Hops so he was going to loss his belt by default! He then took up the fight with Kovalev, because he is a warrior!!!

Dawson, Fonfara, Hopkins, and Pascal would be a heck of a resume, he'd have 3 belts and Kovalev would still be fighting the Agnews and Mohammedis of the world.
