But then, Jones Jr, Lampley, and Kellerman, wouldn't comment much on Cotto's activity, but put extra emphasis on Canelo's one punch at a time tactics. Then compubox numbers come out saying that Canelo landed more punches than I actually saw him throw. Im a fan of both fighters but, it iwas too obvious that they wanted Cotto vs GGG. Max Kellerman summarize it all when he said to Canelo in the post fight interview that "The hope in the boxing world is that if Canelo won he would fight GGG, because Canelo fights everyone." As if to say Cotto wouldve ducked out. HBO, the WBC, the judges, the commentators, and compubox were all in on the fix. Cotto needed a KO in order to win this fight before the fight ever even started. Watch the fight with the comments silent, and its a totally different experience. I had Cotto 115-113.
Bunches in punches? Then why did he LAND fewer shots then Canelo at a significantly lower rate? And the power punch stats were 14% landed for Cotto 40% landed for Canelo. Canelo blocked, slipped almost everything Cotto threw and countered making him pay. And the few shots he did land had no impact. Canelo had the faster hands, better defense, better combos and actually outboxed Cotto who ran all night afraid to stand and trade because he was going to get put to sleep. You Cotto fans need to just accept reality your boy lost and it wasn't very close. He won max 3 rounds. And don't put this on HBO the judges don't hear the HBO broadcast. There were numerous media outlets covering the fight and scoring ringside and all had Canelo winning. And those outlets just like the judges don't see or hear HBO broadcast. HBO rigged the compubox stats? That's an alltime low conspiracy theories. Accept for the fact that anyone with eyes could see Canelo landed more shots while Cotto missed all night long

      • Don't like Cotto's crybaby antics when he loses. He is getting paid a lot of money and should at least give an interview regardless what his opinion or what he feels at the time.

The fight was closer but Nelo pulled it out more clearly in the middle and final rounds.

When you in the ring sometimes you think differently but he should just watch it

BigJavi and Big Rigg acknowledge that Canelo beat Cotto. I haven't Heard Joses opinion, and El Angel hasn't posted here for an eternity. But AnimalisticMeth is in complete denial

            • Get a grip, unruly mob.

Cotto isn't the FIRST and won't be the LAST fighter to claim he won when he actually lost. So put your goddam pitchforks and torches away and look for someone else to burn down.

Either way, I do understand why Cotto is pissed. When the judges have this scored as a complete shut-out (which Mayweather v Canelo was btw), then as a fighter, this has to make you think that something is shady.
Maybe Cotto would still have refused to be interviewed if he lost a closer decision, but I don't think so.
The completely one-sided was bull**** and should make the case for mandatory open scoring. This won't prevent corruption entirely, but will at least allow us to witness the corruption taking place as it happens.
Regardless if he won by 2 rnds or 10 rnds, what does it matter? Canelo won bottom line.

The right man got the decision and regardless of the cards Cotto still lost. There was no robbery, and the decision was not contorversial.

I couldn't give Cotto more than 4 rnds and I've watched multiple times with the sound off

No disrespect, but Cotto's eye was messed up before the fight.

You mean Tito who ducked and lived in Whitakers shadows afraid to fight him for HALF a decade? He held the cheap belt all that time while Whitaker held the real Welterweight belt and was seen by everyone as the true champ. Tito only finally fought him after Oscar beat him and he was coked up trying to make a comeback. What about Quartey the other world champ at the time who Tito wanted no parts of? Oscar moved up to welterweight and fought Whitaker right away who was the man at 147, the man at the top of p4p, the man Tito was avoiding. If there is one thing you will never hear me say is that Oscar was afraid to fight anyone. And he made Vargas his beyotch, Vargas was NEVER on Oscar's level even with steroids. Tito is one of my favs but he flat out ducked Whitaker until he finally got beat and was washed up. Could of fought Whitaker at any point from 93-97 but didn't. Oscar took that challenge day one at 147. Tito needed about 15 fights and 6 years to go by before he stepped up to fight Whitaker. Why because Whitaker would of embarrassed him and made him look foolish. From the mid to late 90's the best Welterweights were Whitaker, Oscar, Quartey and Trinidad. Oscar fought them all, in a 2 year span no less, hell he fought Quartey and Trindad 7 months apart. Trinidad waited till Whitaker was shot and ducked Quartey completely.
