Why does a champion [Stevenson] who supposedly wants the fight even need a purse bid? Ever thought of that?

Stevenson is too busy beating woman inside and outside the ring to ever make a real fight with a guy like Kovalev.

Meanwhile you see the same 4 promoters on HBO and none of these smaller promoters can get a chance. Haymon has them on national TV promoting fights.
They are simply getting paid a fee fot Haymon to use their promoter's license. They have no power to make any decision and they don't take any financial risk. Im sure it is a hard proposition to turn down since being a boxing promoter is risky and you can lose money on many of your events. But the people you mentioned are no longer promoters. They are Haymon employees.

I thought they were going to leave the sport once he retired? Since they're still here that must mean they were real boxing fans after all.

He should taken the idiots with him. I remember this one poster saying Canelo-Cotto would be close because they would try to have a rematch in order to avoid GGG. Isn't that funny, Popescu?

I didn't say that, but must be right right I suppose -- you know better.

You strongly implied it. I know since I'm the one who called you out on it. No harm, no foul. Hopefully our biases don't overtake our good sense like that going forward, if the good sense exists.

Like Ive already stated ; what's best for a fighter financially isn't measured by one purse , that's only the short term myopic view . Haymon fighters get paid more on average , so to keep his fighters compensated on a premium pay scale , sometimes good money fights must be turned down to thwart inroads into the game by novelty companies (ROC Nation) looking to gain ground .

If this fight doesn't get made, which is the likely scenario.. Hopefully Beterbiev can take on Stevenson and then clash heads with Kov

What's best for a fighter financially is not measured in one fight purse. Danny Garcia was 19-0 and had never made over $12,000.00 in any fight , then signed with Haymon and now million dollar purses aren't uncommon. U do the collective math .

Haymon's not a promoter doe, he's just an adviser. He advises boxers who they are allowed to fight, then advises promoters how much of Waddell and Reed's money he is going to give them to make those fights happen.
