I have a statement from one of the promoters, from a senior VP who runs HBO PPV and basic math to say that the event was a financial success.

I'm guessing the basic math part is too hard for some people here since they try to compare Floyd's purse to Golovkin's purse.
The promoter said 200K would be a success. Guess what? Fail.

A couple of fanboys? YOU are calling anyone here a fanboy?

Let me put it like this:

          - K2 had a goal for the PPV to reach 200k buys. That would be a success to them. They said that.

          - The PPV did not reach those numbers, it ranged from 97k-150k.

          - They FAILED to meet their OWN goal they set.

          - This is a success.

          Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight.................. Sure. Ok then.

I have a hunch ggg will try to unify the mw so you haters can stop worrying about him going up or down. That most likely will take 2yrs before he considers moving up...by then maybe ward will have fought 1 tune up

So get your head out of your ass n dont worry about whats available for him, hes got plenty of activities going, last time i check he's the only guy fight 3/4 times on the main event, suck on that hatersss!!!

GGG is going to move up to LHW?

                    I didn't know that.

Floyd's purse against Berto was $32m+ on 550K PPV buys.
Cotto's purse against Martinez was $7m on 350k PPV buys
Golovkin's purse vs. Lemieux was $2m on 150k PPV buys.

You can't judge a highly paid, known PPV fighter like Floyd or Cotto vs. a much cheaper, someone who's hosting their own PPV without any prior exposure. Those are HUGE differences.

FACT: Floyd, Cotto and Canelo were ALL B-sides in their first events. Golovkin's one of the very few hosted his own PPV off the bat.
                      Great. GGG is da man.
