Lool I still remember when the fighthype article that reported 150k was posted here and the fan boys were like "nahhhh you can't trust floydhype, wait for Rick Glaser.... he has the real numbers"
Then Rick drops the 97k bomb and then they switched on him!!!
That day was funny.
Why do people take him seriously?
Does he have undeniable credibility or what?
They need all the buys they can get. GGG's total buys get rounded off on Floyd's numbers.
Can you imagine an argument about whether Floyd did 1.1 million or 1.15 million?
Sigh, I'm still not sure why people keep trying to bring up garbage like this.
Floyd's purse against Berto was $32m+ on 550K PPV buys.
Cotto's purse against Martinez was $7m on 350k PPV buys
Golovkin's purse vs. Lemieux was $2m on 150k PPV buys.
You can't judge a highly paid, known PPV fighter like Floyd or Cotto vs. a much cheaper, someone who's hosting their own PPV without any prior exposure. Those are HUGE differences.
FACT: Floyd, Cotto and Canelo were ALL B-sides in their first events. Golovkin's one of the very few hosted his own PPV off the bat.

It was absolutely hilarious. The racism came out in full, and Barcham "retired" from the internet. Fun times.

I don't know man but the people who thought 150k wasn't accurate (too low)... were bringing up his name. Apparently his numbers for Floyd fights were supposedly unbiased and usually lower than reported numbers.
So if Floydhype had reported 150k then that had to be biased so big Rick (whoever he is) was supposed to save the day with a higher "unbiased" number but then he dropped the 97k bomb lool.

Basically. He said Floyd's #'s were lower than reported a couple years back for Maidana or something. From then on he was facts and everything else fiction.
It tanked. Expect him to be on HBO Championship Boxing next.
Again, based on what? A couple of fanboys on NSB who live in their dream world? Do you have ANYTHING besides your own delusion to support your hypothesis that the PPV tanked?
I have a statement from one of the promoters, from a senior VP who runs HBO PPV and basic math to say that the event was a financial success.
I'm guessing the basic math part is too hard for some people here since they try to compare Floyd's purse to Golovkin's purse.
