True but I was referring the wbc picking judges and the robbery that happened.

Enforce your damn rules instead of trying to steal from a fight that shouldn't even involve you. **** the WBC. I will never side with a sanctioning body.
Step aside fees are common when there is bigger fights available right? Someone posted earlier Tyson paid Lewis 4.5 million to step aside one time.

Its their damn title lol what do you mean no business? I agree they change their rules all the time. Technically insn't GGG supposed to not be mandatory since he has 2 other titles? Its a sticky situation all around but anyone else other than diva cotto would have just paid the sanctioning fees and moved on. His way of ducking GGG and being a greedy fck (like the WBC is being) but on a side note your boy Floyd paid 100k for drug testing. Now thats preposterous lol

        Obvious question:

How is this $300k "sanctioning fee" amount established? Who sets the amount?
The head of the WBC is Mexican. Would the amount have been the same for Canelo had he had the belt?

To me it looks like legalized extortion.... and I'm glad Cotto told them to **** off. He's always done things his way.... not about to stop now.

Golden Boy paying the WBC fee sound like bad news , look like if Canelo wins they going to payoff the WBC to keep then away from the mandatory fight

Agreed. Thank god his reign is over.

$1.1M is crazy but lets all be real here. Cotto is a rich man and the real reason to ditch the belt is to avoid fighting GGG, not paying the cash.

He mentioned "3%", so maybe it's 3% of his purse, which would be $10,000,000 if that's the case. Just guessing though.

Cotto's not really doing anything wrong, he just let the WBC expose themselves as the money grabbing whores they are. All this talk about Cotto holding the belt hostage loses ground too because he obviously doesn't care enough to go out of his way to keep it, he just tries to even his size disadvantage with catch weights. And for all the people that hate these, remember that catch weights actually provide bigger guys the opportunity to make a lot of money and get a HOF name on their resume while fighting a smaller guy. If it wasn't a calculated risk and a lucrative opportunity they wouldn't go along with it, nobody is forced into a catch weight.

I'm glad Cotto spoke out on this, and if Canelo really is "ticked off" like DLH said, that's another point for Cotto.

Cotto: A'ight, how much is it? 100k? 200k?
                      WBC: Uh, actually 300k...
                      Cotto: 300k? Damn! Ya'll mufu_kas try'n go up in a n_gga!?! A'ight doe, I'ma pay. I'll have Gabby wire the money over.
WBC: (Clears throat) Uh yeah, that settles the sanctioning fees now we need to talk about that step aside bread for GGG.
