OK so give me the promoters that are head and shoulders above golden boy? I'll wait. And as for this article it damn sure ain't Mayweather promotions. lol Golden Boys split with haymon has leveled the playing field for everyone else. So the gap ain't as wide for golden boy as years past but they are among if not still the best promoters in the game right now. If not tell me who's better? And haymon is not a promoter.

You are the one saying those guys show him respect but that's not true all those guys have come out saying the same things Oscar is saying about floyd. So now it's this little ol website that is trying to make floyd look bad? So now Oscar, all those hall of fame fighters and this website are just either jealous or racist? So it's a conspiracy against only floyd and it can't be racist because all those guys I named are black except Trinidad who has skin just as dark as mayweather. It can't be a simple as many including fans and all time great fighters just think mayweather is a boring fighter and didn't take enough risks when he fought? If you say that you must just be jealous of floyd lolComment

A promoter's job is to get his fighter the highest reward possible and avoid high risk low reward kinds of fights, just like that Lemieux vs GGG fight, anybody who knows anything about boxing already knew Lemieux didn't have more than a puncher's chance in this fight, if you're gonna put your fighter in a fight you know he can't win at least make sure it sells more than 97k especially when he's one of your top guys, like I said had they done the right things the fight could've easily made 250k+ next year and Lemieux would've got even more exposure due to the fight being watched by more people and due to him defending his title in the US beforehand a couple of times in front of American crowds. That's ABC promotion!
Canelo is a guy that was built up right and that's mainly due to 2 things: first is the fact that he's the only good mexican fighter that's out there that can fight on the elite level, secondly because he was built up right since Schäfer was there, I don't see the genius marketing moves that Oscar did to Canelo to make him a bigger star, they're just lucky to have the most loyal fanbase in the sport that actually love boxing and consider it a top sport.
If anyone deserves credit it's the fighters especially Lemieux who was fed to GGG while making quarter of what he could've made had they waited till next summer, Oscar is desperate since his crew is very small now and he's looking under his feet and not thinking long term, which makes him a bad promoter for the fighter.
Why? So it's better for him to have fought Curtis Stevens or Rubio next instead of fighting GGG? Oscar will lose credibility if he did that. David Lemieux did just as good as any other Middleweight who has fought GGG until now.
He is expected and demanded guys like Lucas, David Lemieux, and Canelo to fight the best out there. And they also wanted that themselves to be challenged and not fight tomato cans. Give them credit
Oscar stuck his best out there some won and some lost. He put fights FANS WANT TO SEE.
Canelo got a chance to be on the cover of ESPN and got a nation wide commercial with Under Armour I'm sure Oscar and his team had something to do with that.
Like you said he only has a certain amount of headliners in Lemieux, Lucas, and Canelo. He can't afford to hide them
The next wave of his fighter are coming like Sadam Ali, Luis Ortiz, Antonio Orozco, etc...
Oscar is a good promoter he looks out for the fans entertainment wise and for the fighters money and legacy wise.Comment

wilder no longer with him and that promotion ******. Iwas at that fight
lucas promotion ******
ggg/lemuix fight bombed badly cause promotion ******
and here were are in fight week and not talking about fight but talking about how floyd and oscar are going at it. All this while oscar is probably thinking about comeback instead of fight and about how he will back rousey
great promoter
Well that was the last time Wilder had any real competition. Since that fight he's getting automatic W's.
Lucas fought 2 of the Top 10 junior welterweight....so what are you talking about?? That's actually good promoting
Lemieux wasn't ready but he got exposure and it's not like he did any worse than any other fighter who has fought GGG. He's young and still marketable
In regards to Cotto vs Canelo if this fight less than a million I would be shocked.
Postal vs Lucas
Provo vs Lucas
N'Dam vs Lemieux
GGG vs Lemieux
Cotto vs Canelo
Jennings vs Ortiz
All are horrible fights right????
Lol Damn you Oscar Damn you
Get out here he's putting on fights fans want to seeComment

I hate to admit this, but Floyd is kind of right here. De La Hoya has taken numerous shots lately, finally culminating with his "open letter" to Floyd. And what is impressive is that it took about 4 or 5 different instances before Floyd finally broke his silence on the matter again and came out verbally swinging back at Oscar. All the things Floyd said, on paper, Oscar does sort of look like an absentee promoter at times. It makes no sense to me that Oscar just can't leave Floyd alone now. He's retired. They're both retired. "Jealousy is a stinky cologne. -Super Troopers"Comment
