Anyone ever read the comments on his Instagram?
95% women calling him good looking
4% giving advice/telling him to change trainers
1% saying he'll lose to Cotto/GGGComment

No, word of mouth from Mexicans to the Pochos(americans with mexican ancestry) did it. Oscar really only needed to invest in a no brainer.
Canelo was to Televisa in Mexico what Rousey was to the UFC.Comment

I love me some Canelo because of his willingness to fight everyone in the past. But seriously I can't point to a single thing that made Alvarez this beloved other than he has a great fanbase. I don't see how he became a "superstar" or "elite" because he never beat any elite fighter, over the hill Mosley doesn't count it. I would understand it if he plowed through his opponents like GGG did. It would create an aura of invincibility to garner the "superstar" status. But because he barely beat Trout and went through hell to eek out a "victory" against a mediocre Lara I just cant put him in the superstar status.Comment
