The betting odds suggested this was not a risk at all... Holm was as much as 20:1 underdog on some betting lines, that's more than Lemieux was against GGG and we all know that wasn't a risk either.

By your logic Floyd has been fighting risks most of his career cause I can't recall him being such a large betting favourite in many of his fights.

Gina Carano was just like Rousey. Beating less talented girls to faced with a tough fight. Cyborg would have KO'd Rousey also. Rousey is just an evil person who needs to disappear now after being humiliated via KO.

Let's be honest, Rousey wins a rematch easily. The gameplan was so bad lol. She literally helped Holly to win. The intention from the very beginning should have been to take her down, not lounge in with her face out blinded by emotion wanting to take the head off a methodical boxer.

Food for thought; she just signed a 7-figure Monster Energy deal last week. Also, last week EA announced they would feature her on the cover of the new UFC video game. Reebock recently signed her to a +$100k/fight deal. Last month it was announced that she would be featured in the remake of Road House, in the Swayze role.

Thanks for posting that vid of the second round.

No disrespect to the ladies at the very top of fight game, but those Holm lefts that were breaking Rousey down were not that great imo. As punches are concerned, they were pushed as hell only getting some steam as they were fully extended. I wasn't that impressed as a boxing fan. I wouldn't like to see what would happen if they were thrown correctly and with malice from a trained male competitor at that weight.

I've only seen that vid, but reading between the lines Rousey has not had enough adversity in her fights as she just got plain beat mentally well before the left that shook her up and giving that back up shows she was ready to check out early....

She should have gone out on her shield from 2 dozen takedown attempts gone bad than get embarrassed by a completely amateur stand up game in what was one dumb fight plan.

I guess with her being the first standout female star, MMA for women is as raw as it was for early male UFC fighters with pure wrestlers and pure strikers making way for more well rounded fighters later.

You're right most of the punches Holm landed weren't thrown with conviction. But you have to remember that this is MMA not boxing. In boxing one only has to worry about the return fire from punches only therefore one can take more chances and commit to the punches they throw. But in MMA you have to worry about being grabbed by the arms, torso or legs as well as being kicked. Holm's gameplan was clear, catch Ronda with shots as she was coming in and not to overcommit as to leave herself open to be grabbed by someone who is an expert at clinching and throwing. Holm fired her shots and got outta the way. Hit and don't be hit, boxing 101.

Really? Easily huh? Just a bad gameplan right? First of all Ronda did try to take Holm down and she was successful atleast once. Holm defended the armbar as well as the other takedown attempts by Ronda and even took her down once herself. Second, so how does one go about taking a person down? Can they just teleport over to them and grab them? If you are a fight fan of any kind you would know of long-range, medium-range and short-range distances of a fight. Ronda is a very good short/close range fighter in that once she clinches you her judoka skills lead to throws and eventually an armbar. Holm is a long to mid range fighter with the strength to defend against short/close range attacks. Both Ronda and Holm knew both these things. This is why Ronda was in such a rush to attack Holm because she didn't want to be at long/mid distance too long. Holm tagged her and picked her apart everytime then moved away. And when she did get caught she defended it beautifully. Ronda was outclassed plan and simple. To win that fight she needed to close distance behind a jab or use head movement. She's not a wrestler shes a judo expert so she doesn't know how to shoot either. Just a plan bad matchup for her that exposed weaknesses in Ronda's fight game.

Rousey is finished like Carano was finished

Just a great day seeing the vile obnoxious Rhonda exposed like Carano was and KO'd. Rousey looked fat and chubby while Holm was lean and toned up. That jab of Holly's tore Rhonda back and Rousey was stunned someone actually fought back against her. Rousey has few fighting skills and zero standup as the vile one faced inferior below average athletes who had few skills. America cheered for Holly Holm as good defeated evil and the UFC and all America won big with the demise of the hated Rhonda Rousey. Good riddance and so nice Rhonda was KO'd and humiliated for all to see.
