u know whats funny, when floyd beat canelo he was too young and inexperienced. when floyd beat cotto he was over the hill.

but if golovkin beats either cotto or canelo, none of this will be said. it'll be his biggest win and catapult him to superstardom.

    smh sad.

anyway, oscar de la fishnets actually has a point. canelo has never been at 160, therefore hes not a middleweight, no matter how hard the G tards scream that he is. they keep bringing up fight night weights, but that doesn't mean sht because using that logic brandon rios can fight kovalev next.

let canelo get 1-2 fights at full 160, and at that point the golovkin fight is more even. right now the edge is on golovkin because he has been 160 since amateurs. thats his comfort zone.

cotto is also not a middleweight. yes he has a belt there but he didn't have to weigh 160 to get it. a catchweight makes even more sense for him.

You can't be MW champ if you're not a MW, right? So the winner just needs to drop the belt on the spot and his life will be spared.

That'd be a good match, but way more people would be into him vs Canelo/Cotto for 3 belts + lineal. Either way, he's mando. If the other guy is too small for MW, he shouldn't be carrying a MW belt. They need to give it up, then can try to recapture it if and when they grow into it.

Floyd got full credit for beating Canelo... He struggled against Cotto and won like 7-5 after Pac destroyed him though but still a solid win..probably the two best wins on Floyd's resume..arguably..

The official sanctioned weight for every middleweight title fight is 160lbs.

Catchweights are a separate private arrangement between the 2 fighters.

So Cotto has fought at 160 twice already and he will be fighting Canelo at 160 also.

If you fight for a middleweight title, you fight as a middleweight, at the sanctioned weight limit of 160lbs.
