Comments Thread For: Lara's Manager Confident Golovkin Would Be Beaten

If Canelo wins, he becomes boxings ppv king, because he would be its top seller, and lil g will have to come down to 157-8 to make the fight with Canelo. Canelo can say the hell with lil g and fight Margacheato and no one is gonna watch the press conference of lil g getting awarded a championship belt. lil g need canelo more than canelo needs lil g, he can just wait for lil g to move to SMW, cause Ward is about to move up and fight Kov, so it will be safe for lil g to finally move up one class, since his booggie man will have moved on.

All that said, Cotto isn't going to take GGG at 160, neither is Canelo, so Lara (barring the remote possibility of Quillin) is the best fight I can see GGG taking this upcoming year.
If not then that fight should happen provided that the other two can't be made.
Cotto and Canelo would deservedly look like sissies if they refuse to fight GGG and keep campaigning at middleweight.
If the fight happens it has to be off HBO because they don't deal with Haymon and due to that I think the fight won't get made.

Lara is not a big moneymaker for GGG but it may be one of the few good fights he may have to take. Beat down Lara and then continue on his way.

This fight may well happen and GGG will KO Lara
Lara is an extremely skilled technical fighter. Personally, I don't think he has much chance against GGG because I feel that GGG's body attack would take the movement out of him and it would be over around 7 or 8. This isn't a fight that makes any financial sense for GGG because Lara has no following other than amongst serious knowledgeable fight fans, but it is a fight that he will probably take if Lara does move up to MW, as a very honorable stay busy fight whilst trying to land bigger fish. I don't think it will appease the haters but wtf, he may as well KO the guy.

If not, he would likely take a decision based on power landed in mid-to-late rounds.
It's entirely possible that Lara would be able to evade and work angles on Golovkin all night though as Genady is not fast and does not deal with speed or angles well (hence, his MO is to walk a guy down and throw combos when the target is stationary, just like Canelo). Intriguing match that heavily favors Golovkin, but is better than any of the prospective fights at 160 Golovkin is going to be having in the next year.
what evidence do we have of this? i know for a fact that Lara doesn't deal well with constant pressure (see Angulo fight) which Golovkin can apply even better because his foot work is better than Angulo. but I've never seen any evidence of Golovkin not being able to deal with angles or fast fighters. I want this fight to happen but i think if it did then it would be an even easier night for GGG than his last few opponents... unfortunately best name on a resume doesn't equate to best fight... or biggest challenge.
