  • Comments Thread For: Lara's Manager Confident Golovkin Would Be Beaten

As previously reported, WBA junior middleweight champion Erislandy Lara (21-2-2, 12KOs) could be moving up to the middleweight sooner than anyone had expected, according to his manager Luis DeCubas Jr.

On November 25, Lara will defend his title against big under Jan Zaveck, who held the IBF world title in the welterweight division. The fight headlines a Premier Boxing Champions [PBC] on ESPN from the Hialeah Park Race Track in Florida.

I really hope they can land this. Not that I think Lara would beat him, but that it would FINALLY be a live opponent for Genady. Oddly, Golovkin fans have been freaked out but the ideal of Lara. Why? Good name, better than anyone he's fought. Would bring Golovkin more credibility. I don't think Golovkin fans think he can beat Lara though. Which is a shame because I do.

Would love to see Golovkin smash him and then Lara is too small

decubas should shut the **** up. Haymon makes the decisions. Not decubas, not Lara. And Haymon would never allow Lara to face GGG so just shut up. Look at who Lara is fighting next. Look who he fought last. Look at haymon's nice stable at 154 that Lara isn't facing. Lara is the most overrated fighter in boxing and nobody wants to see him fight.

Dude, this fight goes 4 rounds max. Too easy for a golovkin.

            Hopefully it happens.

GGG PPV bomb showed he isnt as popular as they think. Need names and Lara is one

Smaller or not, Lara would be the best he's been in with. I think Golovkin would win but I'd be interested to finally see him in with a proper boxer.

Seems like that would give Golovkin a little bit of leverage with Canelo then. Certainly more to brag about than Tureano Johnson.
