Oh ok Nostradamus. Then lets not bother with the fight and let GGG fight another "can". Hes earned it after beating Lara in your head.

If not, he would likely take a decision based on power landed in mid-to-late rounds.

It's entirely possible that Lara would be able to evade and work angles on Golovkin all night though as Genady is not fast and does not deal with speed or angles well (hence, his MO is to walk a guy down and throw combos when the target is stationary, just like Canelo). Intriguing match that heavily favors Golovkin, but is better than any of the prospective fights at 160 Golovkin is going to be having in the next year.
I think Cotto is better than Lara. I also think Lara depends too much on his movement for defense and GGG is just too good at cutting off the ring. I would also pick Cotto to beat Lara so I prefer that match occurs.

and 5 minutes after the fight you'd be right here posting "ggg picking on 154 pounders doe" and you know it.

HBO doesn't even have to get involved in this fight. Golovkin can take it in his country and have it there since Lara is willing to fight in Kazakhstan.

I hope Team Golovkin would start planning for this fight and take advantage of this opportunity.

the idea that any GGG fans are "shook" by Lara is laughable. Fine, make the fight. I'll sure enough watch it. But if the slob Angulo can put Lara on the floor twice, WTF you think Golovkin gonna do to him? LMAO

The main reason GGG fans dont talk much about this fight is that we understand the chance of it happening is about ZERO. Haymon has overpaid Lara ($1million for Rodriguez, etc) to the point that the financials are likely impossible, not to mention the HBO/PBC issue, but most importantly Haymon wont even give Lara to his own guys like Quillin and Jacobs, does anyone really think he's gonna give him to K2 for an easy win for GGG?

            cmon think a little........

If you can find a precedent for me doing that then by all means show me. There's not one GGG opponent who I've said was good before the fight and then changed my mind after the fight.

Cos they've all been pretty rubbish so far.

Lara would actually decrease golovkins ppv numbers. After all,he's only know for running away from canelo for 12 rounds,so the fans won't be too eager to watch a Lara ppv.

Fair enough, though I think Cotto is older and more shop worn than people think. I hope I'm wrong. I'd take Lara to beat Cotto right now, much like Trout did. Prime Prime cotto would have been a different story.

All that said, Cotto isn't going to take GGG at 160, neither is Canelo, so Lara (barring the remote possibility of Quillin) is the best fight I can see GGG taking this upcoming year.
