When a group of people say a guy is great because he beat a slew of forgettable cans, then want to keep him away from a good name because it's supposedly "too easy", that's pure bullshyt. No one is fooled by that.
I'm a boxing fan first, and my answer still stands...it's an easy KO.

You say you're a fan... how do you predict the fight turns out?

Why is GGG/Canelo a MUST but Lara, who is on the same level as Canelo, is a joke, obvious outcome, etc?? Not asking you specifically, just bringing up a fanboy double-standard I see a lot around here. GGG fans don't need to be shook by Lara.

Lara has still not fought at 160 and only 2 weeks ago his trainer said, he has no plans to move to 160, thats why most people dont seem to take that twitter talk serious:

Lara can get the fight one of 2 ways....

ACTION...make a move up to MW. Fight the winner of Quillen/Jacobs (both Haymon fighters) for the WBA Reg belt and become GGG's mandatory. That way Lara has a very good win over a solid MW, a mandatory, and some momentum fan-wise and $$$-wise. He could put himself in position for a GGG fight later next year.

WORDS...Lara can do what he did to Canelo. Forget calling out GGG on Twitter. Show up somewhere GGG is in front of cameras, get in his face, and call him out. Piss him off the way Curtis Stevens did. Maybe insult his family. This will at least create some kind of buzz and Golovkin will want to punish him.

Either way, unless he's willing to take a $150k purse home he needs to provide more of an incentive for K2 and more importantly HBO to make the fight.

Not true at all. Lara won't shut up about it.
“So after last night, GGG Boxing will never fight me and I don’t blame him,” Lara said on his twitter. “I would make him look worse than Canelo.”

"So gggBoxing #running scared of #3 P4P laraboxing but calling out #2 P4P andreward Who in #boxing world U kidding?"

As far as Haymon goes. I don't believe in giving up before ever trying. Humanity would never have left the stone-age if we refused to try at anything.

It's on K2 to call their bluff. Last time around Loeffler said Sanchez killed the fight, not a smart move when they opted for Monroe instead w/o trying to get Lara. Fighting Monroe created a lot of criticism and not a lot of praise. It also killed off a future potential fight when/if Monroe became a bigger name.

Golovkin's potentially facing the exact same situation he was in last year after Murray. Canelo/Cotto are likely to rematch, BJS is likely to get a decision over Lee, and Quillin wants May/Pac money. Golovkin can't afford to fight another Willie Monroe in Tureano Johnson, it could end up being big step backwards in building his momentum.

It's such a logical fight to try and make, with the haters backing Lara, the Lara/Canelo history, Lara being from Texas, both being established title holders, and Lara's talking trash about GGG. K2/HBO might be able to work out a deal with Haymon if they fight Lara, he'll agree to let them fight Quillin? It atleast opens that bridge some.

These articles about "Manager/promoter/sparring partner of some guy thinks some guy would beat some other guy" are about the most redundant articles on this site. Well no f#cking **** he's saying that. Guessing its hard to stay employed with "some guy" when you are openly talking about him losing to "some other guy" regardless of what you actually think. /rant

That said I dig this fight & would like to see it go down, but honestly I'd rather see Lara fight some of these 154lb PBC guys. 154 is loaded on the PBC side right now & I feel like they gotta pull the trigger on some of those fights soon.

Lot of excuses being dropped by fans who say this fight would be easy.

I think Lara frustrates GG over the first 4 rounds by being evasive, jabbing on the back foot, and power punching at angles, which Golovkin has a hard time responding to. Golovkin would increase pursuit in the middle rounds, landing and wearing down Lara. In the later rounds, Golovkin would possibly drop or KO a tiring and gunshy Lara. If not, he would likely take a decision based on power landed in mid-to-late rounds.

It's entirely possible that Lara would be able to evade and work angles on Golovkin all night though as Genady is not fast and does not deal with speed or angles well (hence, his MO is to walk a guy down and throw combos when the target is stationary, just like Canelo). Intriguing match that heavily favors Golovkin, but is better than any of the prospective fights at 160 Golovkin is going to be having in the next year.

I wouldn't mind the fight either, but Lara has some bad tendencies. The way he stopped moving and just shelled up in the Aguelo and Canelo fights would be bad against GGG, he would go for that body and might drop Lara.

best name yes. But fighter? He's a 154lb version of Monroe. When and if they fight GGG ko's him in less rounds than he did Monroe.

The Cotto/Canelo winner won't be fighting Golovkin right away, anyway. So Team GG might as well focus on this fight and get it over with. They need to start acclimating HBO about this fight and get their go signal. They can then formulate their initial offer and send it to the Lara team.

Fight needs to happen early next year.
