  • It's really a no win situation for Kovalev. He wins, so what? he's going to get no credit because he already beat him convincingly a year ago, Unless he absolutely demolishes him within 2 rounds or something then he might get some credit.

I personally don't see any need for the re-match but there isn't many better opponents for him right outside of Ward and Stevenson. Beterbiev of course but he's only had 9 fights so that won't happen yet.

In this era, the first fight isn't the sort of result that normally produces a rematch, I guess all the race nonsense helped make it abit more "interesting"
I'll probably watch it, it's boxing I rarely miss a match even if it is on some strange stream, but would have looked forward to someone else besides Pascal.

            • Boxing politics killed the careers of the potential greats of this new era: Kovalev, Golovkin, Rigondeaux and possibly Crawford next.

All of them are great talents but these mismatches are getting boring. Only Rigo has been in a 50/50 fight and how long ago was that?

The fact that this is a mismatch speaks more to the quality of Kovalev's abilities than anything about the quality of the fight.

No other fight featuring Pascal at LHW would be considered a mismatch outside of Andre Ward.

Pascal is the #3 LHW contender according to TBRB, #4 RING, #3 ESPN, and #2 contender Boxing Scene.

Yeah but he already stopped Pascal. He should be fighting Stevenson but his promoter is chicken**** and his network is cheap.

                    • The ony way Kovalev earns something tonight and makes headlines is if he kills him in that ring tonight like he promised. I'm tuning in. We'll see.
