    Just politics
Politics? Cotto isn't retiring on politics. He's retiring from a long and taxing career, it's not that hard to figure out.

Like the great Bill Parcells used to say: "once you start talking about retirement its best to just walk away."

His last match will probably be against some random bum

just so he can retire on a W after getting flattened by Canelo

I just hope he fights in NYC one more time. He has there more fights on his contract this Rock Nation I believe. If he beats Canelo I think he fights an easy fight then finally GGG.

Politics as in career strategy and negotiation leverage

I'll respect your opinion but I think that at 35, and with his better days long behind him, he'll have few reasons to stick around if he loses. Quite possible though that he sees himself winning and rematching, fighting Pac, etc.
He looks tired and ready to enjoy life though.

He has nothing to offer Floyd. Floyd would get better everything from another fight.

Unless you still believe he magically keeps his belt.

Naw, I don't think he'll fight GGG because GGG isn't taking yet another step aside.
