He looks tired and ready to enjoy life though.
Cotto has never been better than now. I think he just wants to retire before fading.

      You think?

I think he's the same guy who lost to Trout. I think his best years were a long time ago now and has been dining out recently on beating Sergio "Stephen Hawking" Martinez. He's been very very carefully matched in the past few years and has fallen short against top fighters, and even just good fighters like Trout. I still think Cotto has something left but i think his best days are long gone.

In my opinion, i don't think Canelo or Cotto right now are great fighters. They are very good but i don't believe the hype that this is a super fight between elite fighters. I think Cotto is still a good fighter looking for some big pay days before retiring and Canelo is not in that elite bracket that his fame would suggest. Has struggled with the 3 best fighters he's been in with at the time of fighting them which is Floyd, Lara and Trout and could easily have 2 or 3 losses on his record from those fights.

That's why it's a good matchup. It's a very good competitive fight but at a lower level than the marketing for the fight suggests.

These two guys belong to the verry best fighters p4p. And both are exciting, of course this is a big spectacular fight for the Sport.

Yea, I wish the best for Cotto, and I do think Roach added some spring in his step, but he hasn't had a meaningful win in a while. Geale is tremendously oversold, and Martinez could barely walk upright.
I think this is the last hurah for Cotto. I believe he'll put a lot of work into this camp and give it his all but he's not as mobile and doesn't have the reflexes he used to. The idea that this is the best Cotto ever is miles from the truth. Carefully chosen opposition has created that image.
Again though, I wish him the best.

I think you are wrong, from what i have seen the recent opponents from Cotto made him look better than usual. Daniel Geale looked like a zombie, he moved up to 168 now, he already said the last couple pounds were the toughest thing he had to do in boxing. Sergio had no knees, his injuries never really healed.

Delvin Rodriguez - its hard to rank that guy highly.. and the previous fight was against Trout where Cotto didnt really look great, got pretty much outboxed over the whole fight and didnt know what to do.

I think Canelo will win a wide UD (8:4, 9:3) and most probably hurt Cotto, knock him down or even make him quit. Also i believe in Karma, and that might hurt Cotto more than Saul.

This exactly. Cotto's "comeback" is all smoke and mirrors. Very, very, smart and careful match making.

If he retires, good for him. He's shared a ring with just about every legend in or near his weight class, and made a ton of money in the process. There's nothing left for him to prove.

Am I the only Puertorican that can see the truth? Cotto has no chance of wining this fight. Sorry but my money is on Gingerboy this time. I arrive to Las Vegas next Tuesday night for fight week. This is the first time for me so I just hope it will be as good as I think.

This so-called renaissance of Cotto is BS. Cotto has been and still is a very skilled boxer but his recent choice of opponent has masked a decline, not a steep decline but a decline nevertheless.

Rodriguez - Since 2008 he is 4-6-3 in his last 13 fights.
Martinez - a shadow of who he was due to injuries
Geale - Lost something in the Golovkin fight (which opponent hasn't) and looked like a zombie at the weigh in.

Canelo's footwork is just average but he has fast handspeed for countering and he can take heavy incoming. In mid rounds he should have connected enough to have slowed Cotto down. I have a Canelo Ko rounds 5 thru 9.
