We'll see. If that's what you believe and If Canelo wrecks him, don't come back on here saying Cotto is old and shot as an excuse.
When Cotto gives this guy a boxing lesson don't say he was weight drained and under prepared.

I don't care who wins. I don't think either guy is a real elite fighter like the marketing of the fight would suggest.

Cotto was a great fighter now but still very good. Canelo is not elite, he's also very good but has struggled against the best 3 fighters at the time of fighting them, and 2 of them are not great fighters. He could easily have more than 1 loss on his record with different judges.

It's a good matchup between 2 very good, not quite elite fighters. should be good, i don't care who wins though simply because both will run a mile from GGG anyway.

The hype around the winner will be crazy for a couple of weeks though, when in fact whoever wins will have just beaten a very beatable fighter for any good fighter. It'll soon die off when they vacate the belt so they don't have to fight GGG.

I think current Cotto beats current Trout.

I also think that current Cotto, P4P, does much better now against those he lost to in the past. Whether the fighter who beat him regressed or whatever, Cotto does better. And that shows that Cotto did improve.

I disagree with you, the sport of boxing doesn't miss Mayweather, PPV numbers doesn't mean anything to anyone outside USA and Mayweather gang.

Cotto is a legend, but Alvarez will crush him. Kudos to Cotto for taking this fight. If Cotto wins it, it is a big upset in my humble opinion.

That's just speculation. There's no evidence in it. What is true is that since he lost to Trout, he has been carefully matched. Nobody can really say otherwise.

I'm not saying he's shot, he might well prove me wrong and i hope he does because i want to see a good fight. I'm just saying on the evidence of his past 3 or 4 years and the opponents he's faced and outcome of fights, i'd have to say his best days are behind him, it doesn't mean he isn't a very good fighter anymore because he obviously is. This is the biggest test he's had in a while i think, and i'm sure nobody can really disagree with that.

There's no excuses to be made in this fight. There's no dodgy knees like Martinez, no weight draining issues like Geale etc.. I'm not saying thats why he won the fights, but there's always those things to take the shine off the win.
This fight there's no excuse for either guy win or lose. That's why it's a good matchup i think.
