And the 3 highest divisions in professional boxing.

Edit. The world heavyweight boxing champion is white. The recent world No1 golf player (Tiger Woods), the world champion formula 1 racing car driver, and the president of the USA, are all black, or as black as Andre Ward, at any rate.

Those old stereotypes are gone now, thank God.

I don't get it why HBO would need to move Ward to 175 to keep him away from Golovkin. GGG is a MW, ffs.

If I had 3 unbeaten world champions on my books, all in different divisions, the last thing I would be thinking about is matching 2 of them with each other. Keeping them all apart and dominant in their own divisions for as long as possible would be a much better idea.

People talk about Ward already cleaning out 168, but Abraham is the only current top 10 SMW that Ward has already fought and beaten. And even if he couldn't get any of the other title holders to fight him, Andre is still the WBA SMW champ, and universally recognised top dog at 168.

If he defended his WBA crown against any half decent contender, that could be built into quite a big fight. A series of successful defences would make it impossible for the other belt holders, or the fans, to ignore him.

My opinion is that Ward can't make 168 comfortably any more, and that's what is actully forcing him up to 175, not "the powers that be".

His explanation for the 172 catchweight for Paul Smith was that he'd gained weight while inactive, and he wanted to see how his body would react to coming back down close to 168 again. People seem to have forgotten about that.
Yeah but you do realise that HBO wouldn't allow him to do that?

Notice how it's Kovalev they wanted him to fight at the end of his deal and not Golovkin.

What evidence do you have that HBO wouldn't allow Ward to defend his SMW title? And how could they stop him from doing it if he wanted to?

Once GGG decided he was staying at 160 to unify, he was no longer an option for Ward.

If Roc told HBO that Ward could still make 168 comfortably and that he wanted to stay there and defend his title against the best opponents available, they wouldn't be asking him to move up for Kovalev.

Why should they? Ward/Kovalev in 2016 would not be a big fight for anybody but hard-core boxing fans.

So, it's always a conspiracy when a non-black athlete finds success in a sport/sports dominated by black athletes.

Lol...you mean once GGG decided he wasn't going to fight Ward. He and his team still say they'd be willing to go to 168. Just not for Ward.

HBO wanted a guarantee of a big fight from Ward and since they want to keep him away from Golovkin, they need it to be Kovalev since all the other champions at 168 are unavailable to them or not big fights anyway.

They also need someone for Kovalev to fight with their ongoing inability to make the Stevenson match.

Obviously, and the other way round too.

Lewis Hamilton just won the formula 1 world title again. No way is that legit.

The "powers that be" do something dodgy to his car - higher octane fuel than everybody else, maybe - because they want their sport to have a black champion, like in athletics.

I really don't see whats the big deal about Ward moving up. The dude won an Olympic Gold medal at light heavyweight(178.5 pounds) and he fought his last pro fight at light heavy.

Why have you kept going on for ages about GGGs level of opposition when Ward wanted to fight a guy a lot worse than anyone GGG has faced since being on HBO? And you said HBO would never allow Ward to fight GGGs level of opposition, which is obviously not true as proved.

So I'm wondering exactly who's the one emotionally involved here..

But why would GGG give any encouragement about a fight with Ward when their goal is a fight with Cotto/Canelo? I don't get what it is you don't understand with that.

Kovalev and Ward - The fight between them is the biggest that can be made for each guy. GGG has bigger fish to fry than Ward.

What a pathetic thing to say I couldn't care less about those fights, but saying there's a conspiracy against Ward when you're asking GGG to do the exact same is totally ridiculous.

Because it makes more sense for Ward to move up. And then if Ward does win against Kovalev..

He grown into 175 now doe

You're scared Ward will get beaten by Kovalev so you can't see GGG lose and that's the real issue.
                    The bold is ******ed.

                    Just saying.....

FACT #1: Neither of those guys have shown any interest in Golovkin..... and because Golovkin is not willing to be a man of his word and negotiate a reasonable catchweight, he will likely lose both of those fights.

FACT #2: Ward > the winner..... are you ******ed ?

This is the same protectionist dribble you tried to pull yesterday.

Golovkin could have fought the winner, and then Ward, and you know it.

Who protects Golovkin while you sleep ?

Then Ward did nothing for over 2 years but sue a fatally ill Goossen, was half retired from the sport and when he actually came back he moved to Light Heavyweight on HIS OWN. Because he just couldnt make 168. And now these racist ******s say they forced him? How ridiculous can you be?

This thread just shows who is an ignorant racist pos and who has some common sense. Makes it really easy.

The fact that you think that Golovkin can beat Ward pretty much shows whats up.
