No, the only guys who really seem to have hands on experience are punch drunk 60 year olds who don't make any sense in written language. The rest are closet ****s and accountants.

Isn't Kovalev using the shifting technique in your video there? I know some Russian fighters have been using it lately. Very effective.Comment

Yeah, I like that gif because it shows how sneaky he is. Hopkins said Kovalev was a very predictable fighter before their fight and changed his tune afterwards. On the surface he looks like an off balance, 1-2 power puncher, but he has very tricky foot work. He shifts his stance half way through that sequence and what's expected to me a lame throwaway jab turns into a huge left hook.
I've been trying it in sparring and quite frankly I suck at it. It's hard as hell to replicate.Comment

Oh I have tried it and it is hard. A lot of guys recommend not using it and that it will get you hurt, but I think it works very well when you know what you're doing which it seems Kovalev definitely does. I like watching him a lot. Many people think he stands out because of his power but lots of guys have power. Like you say, the footwork makes all the difference. I think this is also true in the cases of GGG and Roman Gonzalez. Their positioning makes them dangerous.Yeah, I like that gif because it shows how sneaky he is.
