But Caribe's mishandling of Rigo does not lessen Arum's.

And maybe you aren't aware, but Arum totally threw Rigo under a bus.

    It was disgraceful.

Rigondeaux’s manager tells Bob Arum to stop disparaging his fighter.....

Calling your own fighter boring, and a runner, is disgraceful. Even if Bob Arum was not interested in promoting Rigo, he should not have disparaged him publicly. Arum was obviously frustrated because Rigo destroyed his investment in Donaire.

Maybe Rigo can't fighting going forward

I'm sorry to break this to you but i'm all in favor of what Arum had to say about Rigo back then and still do. I've said on here time and time again, the vast majority of the pictures we see of Rigo his @ss is sitting poolside playing dominos or cards..there is only so much a promoter can do without you helping yourself. You saw D Garcia, Kovalev, Lomancheko, Russell, Imam, and tons of other fighters showing up at events so the camera would pick them up. Rigo is anti social which i'm sorry part of this business is marketing, you can't fully market a dude sitting at home. I'll say this again, I think Rigo is a world class athlete of unrivaled abilities but I will also say he's horrible at business and for business.

Donaire without the knockouts would've been in the same situation as Rigo.
he gave arum a ko in macua..and then ko'd another asian in a great fight...he made donaire leave the ring with his eye in his mit....your excuse is a joke

My excuse is my opinion and that's why you and I have butted heads for eons, you seem to believe only you have a right to an opinion and your opinion is law. Yet you only address half of what I said conveniently because the other half you have zero leg to stand on and as I said its not disputable. Please tell me how many times you've seen Rigo leave his Florida crib to go sit ringside at a major event? How many times have you seen Rigo leave his poolside to attend a non-cuban right event..yet I see other fighters doing it. Self promoting means everything in this business. While I hate Broners antics it got him where he needed to get.

I can't see your point at all.

                Arum stated that.....

                * Rigondeaux is boring
                * Nobody wants to watch him fight
                * He understands why HBO will not air his fights

Those were the words of Rigondeaux's official promoter.

Maybe you don't expect much from the people who are looking after your interests, but I can assure you that Rigo did.

And it is obvious why Arum made those comments.

That was absolutely disgraceful from a supposed professional.

I can't see how/why you would try to justify that.

How long would you put up with being blamed for the antics of the management team? It's like people don't want to actually see what Arum tried to do for Rigo all that time while being shhhhtted on by people. Arum didn't sell Rigo his freedom he literally handed it to him, now for Arum to let anyone walk away for free you have to imagine how bad this situation is behind the scenes. But let's put that aside, since Rigo isn't the problem according to anyone here, then please explain to me why a guy with so much talent can't get a network to bite his bait...

Name another promoter? Are you serious? Clearly you only follow big names if you can't think of in recent memory at least two fighters being publicly verbally spanked and dropped by the promoters. Arum put Rigo in there against his own star at a division he would've rather not have, he put Rigo on ppv...but since Arum is the problem..how long has Rigo been a free man? How much has Rigo done? What network contract does he have? Why did Haymon just walk away from Rigo? There is a narrative here that people seem completely incapable of accepting and that is that Rigo outside of the ring is the problem. As I said you see everyone trying to get that money out there, you see everyone trying to get matches made out there...the ones you see sitting poolside aren't those people.

Dude, no matter how you paint it, Arum TOTALLY threw Rigo under a bus.

Uncle Bob could have terminated his services, shelved him, whatever..... but to rubbish your own fighter publicly on every level is grossly unprofessional.

That is actually about as unprofessional as saying that your fighter's wife dresses like a slut.

That really was indefensible, Bob Arum should be ashamed of himself.

That kind of behavior accurately defines the character of a man.
