I find it hilarious that we can go search boxing scene search results and find all the people who blamed Arum for Rigo's career situation, well he's been gone how long now? Has it improved? It's actually gotten worse. Arum may not be the most standup dude but he gets his fighters money. Don't know what sort of contract Rigo has with Caribe but he's literally fked because of it and won't consider moving up.

He actually hit the nail on the head with his comments about how they fight in the amateurs

Wrong. Nobody wants to work with caribe promotions. Frank Warren, Roc Nation and Al Haymon all tried to sign Rigondeaux but the negotiations fell apart...because of caribe.

if you're gonna stick to your amateur style, or cuban style of just racking up points and not taking risks, then you must bring something else to the table to sell to the public. like your personality. rigo has no personality. so there's really nothing for arum to work with. it sucks that it has to be like that because rigo has elite skills, but the average fan just wants a fight, not sweet science.

It's his style of fighting that isn't fan friendly and the fact that it is extremely hard to market Cuban fighter's outside of Miami.

I remember reading an article somewhere where Arum went into details about the marketability of Cuban fighter's and how hard it was even with the fan friendly fighting style of Gamboa, it still was a hard sell.

Thus, it doesn't suprise me that not only Top Rank but the great monopolizer Al Haymon passed on him.

If Rigo did called Arum over the phone he must of realized by now Bob's the lesser of the two evils.
