It's really absurd that boxers don't weigh in before the fight at the contracted limit. It is one big lie really. I think the same day weigh-ins should return. Any thoughts?
Should Same Day Weigh-Ins Return?

There's a positive and negative. I remember jiujitsu comp weigh-ins where guys I trained with were draining 10lbs overnight and chugging pedialite 2hrs before the match. I think it results in more dangerous fights but I don't alleviate the fighter of the responsibility of making weight. This makes them more accountable, and sets up a more even playing field, which I like. But, make no mistake, there will be more risks for sure.Comment

Yeah, it's very unhealthy in the long term. I'd like to see this part of the sport cleaned up.There's a positive and negative. This would be a terrible step backwards. In the UK they also have check weight weigh ins in the lead up.
I know some also have check weights after official weigh ins.
I'd go as far to say I think the UK really leads on health care in boxing at the moment.Comment

No it was removed for a reason, deemed it caused more health risk.
If we have same day weighins their will be alot more deaths and severe traumatic injuries occurring at a high rate.Comment

Right. I think we need fewer divisions so fighters don't have to drain themselves to make weight. This is just not a healthy practice and if you can't make it, you need to move up.Comment
