is the hate simply a push back against what they perceive as HBO hype ? are they simply annoyed that some magazine had some fighter they never heard of as their top pound for pound guy ? is it simply their ignorance of the names bellow the 122 lbs divisions and the baseless assumptions that Gonzalez is feasting on cab drivers ?

what's there to hate ? the fact that he's been the undisputed number 1 fighter in 3 divisions ? the fact that he finishes fights ? his exciting offensive style ?
Im a big fan of Gonzales, but wouldnt argue he was 'undisputed no.1' in three divisions. In terms of resume, hes far behind Amnat, and Estrada's resume easily challenges it at Flyweight. Being the lineal champion doesnt mean you are no. 1 necessarily.

At 105/108 he has far better claims, especially as 108 has been quite barren for some time, and 105 hadnt much to offer either. I wouldnt say undisputed though

Wake me up when he stops fighting old faded guys or guys with 28-29, 11-4 records

Viloria hadn't had a big win in years and was beating 10-6,12-4 type guys before roman.

Bradley, rigo, kovolev, wlad, manny all have better wins since roman best Estrada way back in 2012..
People crush andre Ward because he hasn't done anything since beating dawson n froch, yet roman hasn't done anything since beating Estrada in 2012

Roman fights in incredibly shallow divisions,, 105-112 is basically as deep as ufc women's division,,, roman is like Rhonda rousey, great fighters but beating up on overmatched opponents.. Of roman's divisions were stacked, then why was he fighting 38-29, 11-4 guys last year???
Viloria, Fuentes, Sosa etc are all old n faded by the time roman fought them.. It's like danny Garcia beating Judah, morales, and pauli

Roman in the past few years, hasn't fought the best around him ie ioka, Estrada rematch, uwreungong, inyoau, etc..

Roman is a great fighter, but fail to see how he is p4p #1, especially over guys with better wins like Kovolev, Rigo, Wlad, bradley, manny..
Sure roman is exciting but so is GGG and kovolev..

The p4p #1 is vacant since floyd retired, roman deserves his chance to prove himself #1, but you can't justify that ranking now..

NSB doesn't like to talk about the negatives of boxers that are popular on NSB. Just because NSB likes a guy should not mean his negatives are off limits for discussion.

The only negative people are pointing out about Gonzalez is the money he wants for Estrada 2. I think that is fair and doesn't make someone that does discuss it a hater.
Even with that Estrada said that both him and Roman deserve a million each for the rematch. So it's not like Estrada disagrees with him.

Of course not. It's a reasonable position to take. it isn't hate if posters think Gonzalez said this to avoid having a rematch with his toughest opponent.

Two different comments. Roman said he won't fight in the rematch unless he gets 1 to 2 million. Estrada on the other hand believes they deserve it, however he understands that it would be difficult to get such a high amount, but he'd be happy with whatever amount they get as long as it's split 50/50.

Yeah but come on bro.... Roman won the first fight and Estrada lost. I can't be mad at him for his stance.

                that' s ridiculous .
flyweight and Super flyweight are STACKED .
Ioka , Ruenroeng , Estrada , Cuadras , Kono , Inoue .... that's plenty of names to keep him busy for 3 years.
he's already rumoured to be facing Ruenroeng next , and had stated that he'd like to face the others .

if you wanna dissect his record and criticize his recent opponents , fine ... but to say that there are no credible opponents in the lower divisions is just nonsense

                  Lmao..

Where did I say he didn't have any credible opponents for future fights.. I named pretty much the same guys as you did. All I'm saying is let roman fight those tyoe fights and be successful, until then I don't think you can proclaim him p4p #1..

I am a fan of Gonzalez! He has fought in Tokyo many times & I have seen him in the ring.

I loved his fight against Takayama!

I do want him to fight Estrada again. Estrada gave as well as he took, and he was not as good as he is now!
