Boxers that have been active have to deal with this crap all the time too. Do you think every fighter who has had an active schedule the last few years has been 100% healthy for every fight they have been in? Of course not. I think part of this withdrawal has to do with the negative publicity he has been getting for choosing low level opponents and because of the booing that would occur from almost every fan in the crowd if he were to fight on the Cotto/Canelo undercard.

I really hope HBO just gives him a Spring fight and then Kovalev. It would be theft if Ward is able to squeeze more money out of the HBO budget by pulling this stunt. At least Ward appearing on the PPV wouldn't have come out of the HBO budget.

Ward will hopefully have a fight in 2016, probably sue R&N n then sit out 2017? Have another tune up 2018, gets hurt n sit out n tuneup 2019, tune up when he comes bak, n kovalev is gone, claims krusher ducking. I'm pretty sure wards history spells this.

At this point he's better off just remaining a commentator. He gives off the impression that his heart is no longer in it to box. He even mentioned something just the other day about how if he never boxes again he's already accomplished everything. Doesnt sound like the words of a man who's heart is still into fighting. Maybe he got too comfortable making easy money by sitting on the sidelines talking about fights rather than participating in them.

Him and his team have been aware that he could fight on 11/21. it's not outrageous to assume he's been training in some shape or form in preparation, before his team finalized the contract w/ HBO.

Perhaps Team Ward pulled a fast one on HBO, hiding the knee injury, leading to Hershman's exit?
