I'm starting to wonder if Hershman was let go, partially because of the contract he gave Ward.

Paying him top dollar to fight multiple tuneups, not exactly smart. Even if Ward actually does fight Kovolov, it's not like this is some mega PPV.

... You are right -- he would have added value to the card's PPV sales... No doubt about it. But he isn't adding anything, right now -- but (who knows?), maybe ( later today or tomorrow) Ward will be back on that card... and so on.

Don't worry, Kovalev and his Russian school (well, Russian with an American trainer now) are still going to get it next year.
