He actually has never once defended the WBC title is over two years and only defended the WBA title once, a title he was allowed to keep while incarcerated.

Rich people don't take plea deals that include them doing any jail time. If there wasn't any credible evidence no way Floyd's lawyers take a deal that sends their guy to even one day in jail. The only way that happens is if they know the outcome will most likely be much worse in a trial.
If they had nothing on Floyd he had the resources to fight it in court with the best lawyers money can buy or get a plea deal that kept him out of jail.
