Whether he loses or not, the heavyweight division needs Fury. He is an excellent foil to other opponents. Bar none the best talker in boxing hands down. Holds nothing back and says it like it is. The boxing world needs someone who can just unload a stream of consciousness to what is happening. Klitscko, Haye, Floyd, Manny what have you...they all are business first and walk the line of boxing political correctness. Whether he is wrong in things he says or largely right, he is willing to wear his heart on his sleeve and be genuine

well,,,,I agree with your first paragraph so maybe were not as far off as I first thought. will just have to agree to disagree on the rest. yea,,,,fury does have good footwork and moves well but I still feel wlads is a bit better and the most underrated part of his game. I remember chris byrd and calvin brock stating that he moved in and out much better than they expectedI agree that Wlad throws his punches with bad intentions & has a purer boxing technique, but Fury knows that he isn't a one punch KO artist. He breaks opponents down and despite being an apparently light puncher for his size has stopped 3/4 of his opponents.
As for footwork, i'm sorry but i disagree. While Wlad is good on his feet, Fury moves like a MW, ok he looks a bit wierd due to his size and proportions but just watch his feet in his last couple of fights, nothing else but the feet.
I've posted it before so not sure if you've already read it, but this explains better that i can. Again ignore the quality of opponent, we're just discussing footwork here - http://www.badlefthook.com/2015/3/4/...eight-analysisComment

id be rooting for him if he was fighting anyone besides wlad or povetkin. hes my 3rd favorite heavyweight. hope he gives a good account of himself. im 60/40 on a wlad kayo but fury is a live dogWhether he loses or not, the heavyweight division needs Fury. The HW division doesn't need Tyson Fury. The guy is unpredictable outside the ring, inconsistent and his fights (of recent) aren't even that entertaining. Fury has stated that he wants to retire pretty soon (I'm not sure if he's saying that tongue-in-cheek) but it makes you question his commitment to the sport and/or whether he takes it seriously or not.Whether he loses or not, the heavyweight division needs Fury. There are plenty of up-and-coming heavyweights that will fill the talent void once Klitschko retires - which btw may be for another 3-4 years.Comment

This is the guy who set up a batman vs joker fight at the press conference. Pretty sure he has passion for the sport

Yeah I agree, I think Fury can move a bit around the ring but look at the knock down that happened against Cunningham, my estimation on that happening was infact bad footwork.well,,,,I agree with your first paragraph so maybe were not as far off as I first thought. will just have to agree to disagree on the rest. yea,,,,fury does have good footwork and moves well but I still feel wlads is a bit better and the most underrated part of his game. Bare in mind Sergio Martinez was a great mover but his out of balanced action from his style of moving often found himself tasting the canvas not because he was hurt but simply because he couldn't do anything to keep upright.
Similar? I think so.Comment

His shelf life wont be anywhere near as long as Wladimir either, different type of professionals all together! The HW division doesn't need Tyson Fury. Tyson is your average gypsie and that's just the truth he doesn't hide it and he likes to neck it back on the weekend hard style
Long career at heavyweight, I doubt it, he wants a good pay day then he can buy a few more caravans and retire happily.Comment

Of course Fury has passion for the sport. He's a traveller, fighting is deeply engrained into his culture. He's also been in a gym all his life, he was boxing at young age, it's all he knows. Take what Fury says in the build up to a fight with a pinch of salt.Originally posted by SlySlickSmoothQuote:

I'm not saying he is a future hall of famer or anything and he does fight like ****. But he is big which is really his saving grace. That and he doesn't seem to wilt under pressure. He welcomes it. Fury is the type of guy Wilder and other up and comers with more promising talent should love to fight. He is excellent at causing tension and insecurity in his opponents just with his harsh verbal attacks. Wlad is a made man and has proven his dominance. I doubt he is legitimately worried. But I do think for instance with Haye, Fury gave him a tongue lashing he's still pissed about to this day. Fury is a loose cannon and is the type of guy that challenges everything you are and what you stand for. He's uncoordinated and hardly anywhere close to elite. But I mean its hard not to like the guy. He is your average Joe and in his own words even less. A gypsy challenging and pissing off the boxing powers that be.The HW division doesn't need Tyson Fury. fury pulled straight back in that fight with his chin in the air. Ive noticed he mostly corrected that bad habit. I dont think wlads going to get those free shots that cunningham hadYeah I agree, I think Fury can move a bit around the ring but look at the knock down that happened against Cunningham, my estimation on that happening was infact bad footwork.
