Ward hasn't signed to fight Kovalev.

The fight will be the first of an exclusive three-fight contract that Ward has signed with HBO. It will also include a fight in the spring of 2016, followed by a fall pay-per-view showdown with three-belt light heavyweight world titleholder Sergey Kovalev (28-0-1, 25 KOs), who is also under contract to HBO. Kovalev and his promoter, Main Events, have also agreed to terms.

yes if he or Kovalev lose then no fight hbo is not signing ward unless a Kovalev fight is signed

... But is RN supposed to fight Kovalev? No, Ward is... and he has that 'history" post 2011.

Kovalev wont allow Ward to clinch, which means Ward has no chance.

It should be the referee who doesn't allow Ward to clinch, get it right and hopefully we get a nice stern referee who wont allow Ward to fight dirty, time for Ward to prove how good he is without cheating like he did against Froch and Kessler we pay to see a fight not another man trying to hug it out

Ward shouldn't be making us wait til late 2016, this fight should either take place early 2016 or not at all I think we can all agree that 3 soft fights for Ward is absolute B.S I wont be watching any of these fights of his, I'm a fan of boxing and that's something nobody should actively support especially with the credit and P4P ratings he gets.

Ward because he is better in everything except punching power. Not saying KOvalev is bad but Ward is just more skilled, more versatile, faster, have better defense, can fight from more range...
