IMDAZED was correct.... you guys are just straight laughable.
Where do you see me say anything about closed circuit ppv or 60k? It's pretty obvious you don't even read what you're replying to. Go back under the bridge, troll.

Compare that to Golovkin, who had no local (Kazakh) following, no big-name opponent who has had PPV exposure and had their event conflict with World Series and college football.

inb4 your 'excuses' statement. Logic is hard, I know.

Who said it was Tony that did it to his gloves?
I trust the testing procedures that likely happen before a fight is even started and I'm sure IF his gloves were loaded Cotto would have quit long before he did and he quit through exhaustion, quit being the key word.
What do you make of the fact that virtually no fighters, trainers or journalists came to Margarito's defense once people started suggesting that he might have cheated against Cotto? I completely understand that this does not count as evidence, but I always found it very persuasive that so few people who've been around the sport (and who are aware of all the procedures you mention) actually came to M's defense...and I've always wondered why that was.

What most people think (and say) isn't always a great indication of the truth.

But for what it's worth, Ring Mag's Doug Fischer certainly has "defended" Margarito in no uncertain terms. More than once. Including recently.

Cough -- didn't Ward say he'd take Floyd at 160?

            Yes, he did. So.....

Why not fight GGG at 164? See how this works? See how every MFer is playing the same games?

Of course...but, in this case, I think it counts for something when people who actually take punches for a living (or spend their lives in that environment) form something close to a consensus on the subject.

I'll check out Doug Fischer's article. Thanks.

I've said all along CW are appropriate only for non-title fights when one guys is much smaller.

Cotto stepped into the MW division, no one forced him.

GGG doesn't have Ward as a Mandatory.

GGG isn't out winning SMW titles, or LHW titles.

Cotto wants to claim himself MW champ, then prove it.

If GGG starts picking up SMW belts at 161, I'll slam him just as hard.

Ward admitted he was kidding about the Mayweather fight. I guess we can infer GGG was kidding about fighting Ward.

Correct. Both fighters (and in Golovkin's case, his trainer) have said some things that (at least in retrospect) probably don't reflect a serious offer.

They're all in different divisions for now.

                    Just a reminder.

Wow, that's running w/ tail tucked if I've ever seen it. The Ward thing was pushed over and over so don't pretend it wasn't serious. It was false bravado that bit him in the ass. When you shout at someone, they turn around and start walking toward you and you run away, you're a p***y.

Regarding Cotto, I actually agree I with him here. I thought he should have retired 2 years ago so anything he does at this point is extra credit, IMO. It's sad when fans act like vultures, wanting their guy to go after guys who are near retirement. Froch, Martinez, now Cotto?
