Margarito was not getting into a rhythm at the end of that fight. The only difference in that round was that Cotto landed some very hard shots. In other words, he exchanged a bit more. If you call that a rhythm, then I don't know what you're talking about. A rhythm suggests that Margarito was having success, which he was not. Just because Cotto was exchanging a bit more does not mean Margarito was landing. It's merely smart boxing on Cotto's part, to the point of opening up his arsenal.

As to a trilogy, there's no point to it. As Lampley and Kellerman said, the fight path itself was similar to the first match. What WAS different is the effect Margarito's punches had on Cotto. Instead of being beaten down, Cotto looked stable and beat Margarito to the punch every time. That's all there is to this match-up. Clearer evidence wouldn't be possible unless we had videotaped proof of Margarito talking about using plaster. If a fight is basically the same, yet the damage one fighter does to another isn't, something's up there. Punching power doesn't change overnight.

With that being said, let's not pretend that Margarito has no power to begin with. Using loaded wraps does not automatically mean a man is weak. All it makes clear is that the user is willing to kill someone to obtain victory--using a deadly weapon. Margarito is still a strong man, hence claiming that Cotto had some bruises on his face means nothing. Margarito was able to hurt Pacquiao various times without wraps, so there you go. Plus, if you compare the damage of the first fight and the second, you'd have to be blind not to see a difference.

Pretty much sums it up. It looked like almost the exact same fight as the first, Cotto out-boxing Margarito. The only difference was Margarito's punches didn't have the same affect, Max Kellerman confirms as much in the post fight interview.

Don't Even Need To Read The Article; Margarito Gets NO Shot At Cotto

Let Margarito go fight Canelo or GGG. Margarito isn't relevant any longer. Let him go take another path.

No direct evidence, but plenty of circumstantial evidence. I'm sure you know what the first means (i.e., being caught red-handed), but the second allows you to look at the facts and draw reasonable inferences (i.e., use your brain).

Go back and watch the fight. Mosley was never running away looking like he was about to **** his pants. Cotto had that same distressed look on his face when Margarito started hunting him down late in the second fight.

The last few punches in the first fight were destructive because Cotto had already taken a battering and was weak and couldn't get out of the way of them. In the second fight, he didn't get hit nearly as much. Partly because he fought a better fight tactically and partly because Margarito was not the same fighter.

Roach also once said that he believed that Margarito had never cheated before. Roach is full of ****.

Maybe. Margarito was bothering Mosley plenty, he rarely stopped moving and he was very tentative through out most of the fight..... he just fought Margarito beautifully, beat him to the punch and countered superbly.

You could be right, but I highly suspect that Margo loaded up in that fight, and many others. I don't think Roach saw things that didn't happen.
