His chin and his inability to control himself in the ring were pretty much the difference between a damn good career and a potential ATG career. He is one of my favorite fighters ever, but you are right that he gets worked over at MW and I don't see him making the WW limit.
What Fighters Would Have Never Been Champions?

I think he would have done pretty well at middleweight, although he'd have to protect that chin. Really, everything would have been so different. The 80s would have had Julian Jackson and Mike McCallum at middleweight which would have put them in the mix with other fighters they wouldn't have been in with and would have made for some hellacious fights. I don't think Terry would be an easy mark at either weight though and it would have been interesting to see what he did do against better opposition. He had a damn good career like you say, but much of it was forgettable. I always wanted him to fight Trinidad, Quartey, Whitaker, not Luis Santana three times. His chin and his inability to control himself in the ring were pretty much the difference between a damn good career and a potential ATG career. Dariuzs Michalzewski would have probably been champion but never for 23 defenses. And he would have had to fight outside of his home country which all world champions should do.Comment

Orlando Fernandez, Jesse Benavides, Kenny Mitchell, Valerio Nati. Heard of these guys?
All WBO Junior Featherweight Champions.Comment

If the super middleweights all had to go to light heavyweight, that could get very interesting. You'd have Froch, DeGale, Ward and so many others would go against the likes of Kovalev, Stephenson and Fonfara. That could get crazy.Comment

I have to include Deontay Wilder as well. He has good power, but against Wlad, he'd cave I think.Comment

It's easier to say what guys were the actual champs...
Heavy- wlad
Cruiser- no one
Light heavy- hopkins, calzaghe, dawson, stevenson
Super middle- Calzaghe, Ward
Middle- cotto, serg, pavlik, taylor
Jr midd- floyd
Welter- floyd
140- tszyu, hatton, manny,
135- castillo
Etc
EtcComment

Looks like a pretty legitimate list. However, with no 140, I do wonder what would have happened if they were all forced to fight at welterweight of lightweight. I wonder which weight Tzsyu would have fought at. And without catchweights, Manny might not have ever ventured to welterweight.Comment

I honestly don't mind the extra divisions, as long as the best in e division fight each other, which rarely happens...Looks like a pretty legitimate list. Some guys can go up in weight, and some are perfectly designed for one weoght class..
Hagler is great at middleweight, but any higher and he would suffer..
HAtton was dominate at 140, at 147 he is nothing
I think tsyzu would be the same way,, he would have gotten wrecked by shane, Oscar, tito, Ike, vernon at welter
Juan diaz--- great at 135, nothing at 140..
Which is why i give such props to guys that can go up in weight because it's such a difficult taskComment
