Same reason why McDonald's and Burger King don't work together to make a burger.

      Its an honest question.

Has haymon not haf guys like quillen drop belts to avoid fights..??
      Get real
hes also had multiple fighters enter purse bids against the competition even tho his fighters were underdogs and ending up losing gary russel sean porter to name a few he also had every intention of entering with stevenson not sure how u can blame haymon for that hbo dont dictate boxing thats what purse bids are for. once u quit looking for reasons to bash pbc and blame them for things u will realize the precident is actually haymon letting his fighters go thru with purse bids

FYI. Canadians pay PPV the same amount as Americans do. It's converted to Cad $ at existing rate.

        $50, for example, is $65.43 plus 13% govt tax = Cad $74 = US$ 56

        They're basically paying more.

That fight doesn't belong on PPV. It belongs on primetime broadcast television. Too bad HBO is hell bent on feeding boxing to ignorant idiots that believe spending $60 on a PPV makes the fight epic.

Hbo wants the fight. The are the best and biggest network. Stevenson wants it on showtime. A purse bid wouldnt justify what they deserve

The only way this fight gets made is if the PBC continues to lose money at an epic pace and they get a sizable kickback to HBO to let them do a PPV.

The one thing that could help is Showtime doesn't need to be involved, Stevensons last few fights were not on Showtime, he doesn't have an exclusive contract with them. Not that dealing with PBC is really going to be easier.

I understand why this is like it is. Stevenson has put a few million bucks away fighting Fonfara and a bunch of bums. If he would have went straight to Kovalov, it's likely he would have lost and not made nearly so much.

Kovalov has fought better competition on HBO and has made a few bucks himself. Main Events locked him into a contract with HBO to secure Serge gets paid and they keep their foot in the door with one of 2 networks that is paying for boxing right now, which as a smaller promoter they need.

I also get that HBO puts resources into guys fighting and doesn't want them going off and fighting on other networks.

All that said, it sucks we can't get this fight.

If it makes you all feel any better, there's a good chance this time next year we're all complaining about how the Artur Beterbev and Andre Ward isn't happening instead of this one.

And I'm not even blaming them. Why should they risk having Kovalev lose to a Haymon fighter? I get it, it makes sense.

But can you guys stop lying about who ducked this fight please...

Wouldnt that be stevenson .rhe guy who jumped ship to showtime and haymon in effort to avlid kovalev after hbo approached him about fighting kovalev.

I doubt HBO would make any more special effort to make this fight happen. The feeling is probably like letting the same guy slap or insult you for the second time. I also doubt they would lose sleep over not ever seeing this fight get made. Can you imagine them bending? No.

Why didn't Stevenson make the fight when he was with HBO instead of going to Haymon and Showtime? They fought on the same HBO card for a reason then Chickenson runs to Showtime.
